Would you be able to pull the plug?

Your loved one has been in a vegetable state for atear in the hospital. Doesnt seem bright for them...

Could you pull the life support plug or would you just wait and pray for recovery?

After 13 years and dozens of doctors...

But NOOO...the Florida House thinks otherwise.

:feels-hot

This morning the Florida House basically put the feeding tube back in a woman who did not want to live in a vegetative state (coma)...but has for 13 years!

Depends on the team of doctors prognosis.

"Mr. Jervis she won't ever come out of this state" would mean I pull out her living will and have them pull the plug as per her wishes. Or she would do the same for me.

"Mr. Jervis with therapy in a year or so we could see progress" that would mean she lives.

:thumbsup

If there´s no hope, I would pull it myself!!

Actually, if this ever happen to me, please, please, please: PULL MY PLUG!

once again it all comes down to money.... fucking sick if you ask me.... because the husband got money... the parents feel that the daughter should continue to live in a vegatative state till she passes on her own because they dont want the hubby to move on with his life.. even though it was not hubbys fault that his wife is in this state...fucking parents are a selfish bunch of fucks .....I would never let my family member live like that... especially for that long..

man, can you guys even begin to imagine the hospital bills....my mom was in a coma for two months and spent 3 months in the hospital for a motorcycle accident (she was fucked up with brain damage) and the bill was nearly a half million..the bill was a joke around our house for a long time..cause they sent it by UPS it was so big .

Maybe if hubby slides the folks some money they will shut up and let their daughter finally go in peace...sick thought :321GFY

I'd pull it in a heartbeat...and I've instructed my people to do the same for me

Ross 10-21-2003 07:27 AM

I don't know if I could... Especially if it was my mum, dad, gran or brother. I really dunno if I have the guts to do it.........

LeeNoga 10-21-2003 07:27 AM

They should let this woman die, now they are saying they think her husband is abusing her, sheesh....

This whole Florida case is wrong, pull the tube and forget about it.

It's pretty disgusting that someone would go against a persons wishes. My mother was on life support when I was 10 and both my father and her parents decided to take her off. I would not have wanted her quality of life reduced to feeding tubes and breathing machines no matter how I felt about having her around out of my selfishness.:2 cents:

The parents have been saying for a long time that the woman is responsive and such, but anyone who's had a relative in a coma or close to death knows that a human body will do a lot of strange things that are easily mistaken as conscious activity.

I should drive over there and yank the tube myself and let the poor woman die.

I guess I wouldn't know until I was in the position.

My husband was in a coma for three months and the wife that he was in the process of divorcing told them to pull the plug ..luckily his mum told them about the divorce and and stopped it. Becareful about who has the rights to pull your plug.

My grandma had a stroke (after trauma) and was in coma for a few days, after which we decided to do passive euthanasia

WebTitan 10-21-2003 08:05 AM
