I didn't see the show tonight, but you'd have to be from pretty far out in the country to not know about this show prior.

What was the number one show in Spain last year? Or how about any show in Spain? Of the last decade? How about France? Any country in Asia? Any country in the southern hemisphere since the advent of television? I'm sure some Americans can think of some, but personally I can't, and it wouldn't be hard to find plenty of other people. Similarly, I'd expect most of the world's population has not heard of Joe Millionaire.

Most of the reality TV shows in america are imports - Millionare, Fear Factor, Big Brother etc.
American channels in europe are broadcasting in local time with local programing, with some exceptions, but for most of the time you can't get it unless it's off a satellite
