Just bought an NES! I can't believe it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...gename=rvi:1:2

I was only going to go to $100, but then in the last 4 minutes some mofo outbid me, so it ended up getting to just under the $140 mark, but still. I am stoked to get it!

Soooooo many memories playing those games, but I mostly bid on this auction because it is refurbed with the newer 72pin reader and has the original boxes and classic games.

Anyways, does anyone have Dragon Warrior 1-4? I wanna get those :)

skillfull 10-20-2003 03:40 PM

you have been owned :P

fletcher 10-20-2003 03:41 PM

I had a friend get one a few months ago for like $4 at a thrift store. Duck Hunt is wicked fun.

Fu-Q 10-20-2003 03:41 PM

you paid way to much imo

ldinternet 10-20-2003 03:41 PM

Holy shit, US ebay is sweet.

That would probably go for like 10 squid or less on ebay UK. There's one on right now with 17 games, a light gun & 2 pads. Bidding is up to 22 squid and the auction is almost over.

Fucking tight fisted non bidding bastards.

69pornlinks 10-20-2003 03:42 PM

WTF?

Atari 2600:thumbsup (the one with the groves)

Daymare 10-20-2003 03:42 PM

lol, I know it's more than I wanted to pay, but I checked 10 pawn shops and used game places and they all had no systems, tons of snes and n64, etc But no nes, ESPECIALLY not with the original boxes.

LadyMischief 10-20-2003 03:43 PM

We had one in the basement for years... Just took it out about 6 months ago for our son. He's 5 and he loves it. WE got him Batman and a few other old games on ebay.. Man he's gotten good at them fast.

hmm, never tried that. I haven't played the games in 7-8 years and I'm only 21, so I grew up playing those games.

zombie 10-20-2003 04:00 PM

Sneka 10-20-2003 04:05 PM

:1orglaugh - Daymare, want my Schneider CPC 464?

Only $250

NoCarrier 10-20-2003 04:34 PM

Man.. with that price you could've bought an Xbox with a mod chip and then play hundreds of games with the nintendo emulator software for the X-Box.

nofx 10-20-2003 04:37 PM

get excitebike and skate or die to play, great games:thumbsup

touretts 10-20-2003 05:02 PM

just buy a used dreamcast and get a cd with nesticle and about 2600 roms on it. thats the only reason i still have my dreamcast. ah that shit brings back old memories.

JDog 10-20-2003 05:04 PM

I got mine from when I got it in '85! It's sitting in my storage, but I won't get rid of it! :Graucho And I have one of the controllers here!

My newphew asked about the controller and said, that looks like it's for something old, why would you wanna play that. I'm like, cuz it's better than PlayStation! :1orglaugh Never-the-less, he didn't understand that!

MetaMan 10-20-2003 05:09 PM

NES is the best system ever created there is so many classic games on that system.

Contra
Mario 1,2,3
Double Dragon
Battle toads
Double dragon vs Battle toads
duck hunt
bubble bobble
Adventure island
kirby
dr. mario
ninja turtles

all crazy ass games! i have 2 of em but 1 it doesnt push down and the other is to hard to get games to read.

i seen somwhere a NES system that u just plug it in, like a SNES and N64 does instead of puching i down then power.

wish i could get my hands on that.

K-Rock 10-20-2003 05:39 PM

I remember back in the day playing Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, 3.
I had 1 and 3 masterd, 2 I could not even fucking play hardly. Mike Tyson's punchout, I could get all the way to Tyson and he would kick my ass. NES Rocks! :thumbsup

Keev 10-20-2003 05:41 PM

I picked a old new off ebay awhile back and got some old games i loved back in the day as well. Metroid, Techmo Bowl, Super Techmo Bowl, Zelda, Baseball Stars

flashfire 10-20-2003 05:44 PM

$140...you idiot, sorry but thats waaaay too much. Never been to a pawnshop? $5 for the system and 1-5 dollars per game...sucker

flashfire 10-20-2003 05:46 PM

PS the mofo that outbid you was a buddy of the seller or the seller himself

Xplicit 10-20-2003 05:56 PM

SmutGiant 10-20-2003 07:07 PM

I still have my original NES with box and all in MINT condition (even the box). I grew up with that baby, can't imagine ever selling it.

I know. But I own dreamcast, xbox, n64 and ps2 and get bored of all the games they have really fast. Nothing can beat the simple 2 buttons of A and B for regular NES. Even SNES has too many buttons.

I can remember spending whole days at a time as a kid playing the same 2-3 games then I'd get a new one on my birthday and could play it for months without having to get a new game.

Anyways, I still like playing the new systems, but even in my city of 120,000 people, all the pawn shops and game places, including the paper don't have NES systems, and I don't want a junky used one that will break so I went on ebay, got a practically new system with 10 classic games for a little over $100. To me that's not that bad for the amount of entertainment I'll get from it.

Also, I have all the roms and stuff for computer. I have like 700 games for all the old systems, but it ISN'T the same, not by a mile.

psyko514 10-20-2003 07:11 PM

it's all about the Sega Master System.

Man last year in college I used to play that dance dance revolution game during my breaks. I'm only 120 now so I didn't really lose weight, but I gained massive muscle on my thighs. I looked bizarre for months because I was wirey as hell, then you'd see these humongous muscular legs, the opposite of most body builders.

Just thought I'd share a similar experience :thumbsup

flashfire 10-21-2003 12:58 AM

It is a great system for sure...I just thought the price was too high though

keyDet79 10-21-2003 05:04 AM

I still have a Sega Master System somewhere.. But anyway, you do know there is such a thing as 'roms' and 'emulators' and you can play NES games on your PC. I still play a few of those, I love Street Figher 2 (SNES, I know), if anyone wants to play it online against me using Snes9x or ZSnes, hit me up :thumbsup I'll kick your ass!

johnbosh 10-21-2003 05:06 AM

Damn I just remember the good ol duckhunt days :BangBang:

Matt 26z 10-21-2003 07:51 AM

The original boxes are what makes these things valuable, and they seem to be going up and up.

I've got my old Nintendo with the Gyromite robot and the original box.

Milena Dickman 10-21-2003 08:01 AM

I friend of mine lend me hers old Atari with the most classic tapes! Mega Mania, enduro, River Raid, Pac Man, Pit Fall, Keystone Keepers.... my little cousin (he´s 13) say I´m an idiot for playing that shit... :1orglaugh

Man, those bring memories!

strobi 10-21-2003 08:04 AM

Yeah I know that one! We have Nintendo, Super Nintendo, the old Sega Genesis system, N64, Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube, and it's still easy to get bored sometimes.

memyselfandi 10-21-2003 09:29 AM

Dude that rocks. You got way riped though. Hope it was brand new. Get Final Fantasy, ive been looking for it for years.........

Brad-Wishing 10-21-2003 09:33 AM

I've still got mine and it is in great shape.

It skitzes out sometimes and doesn't load a game.. but its like.. really old and such. Bought it when NES first came out.

It's a classic baby.

SNES I also have and enjoy more...
