380 billion $ for the Iraq... no refund?

Just interested,

I am European, and I may not approve what USA is doing in the world, but since I work mainly with USA, I hardly care what happens to Iraq or the whole middle east.

So, what happens with the 380 billion $ spend on Iraq. Why doesnt the USA oil get dirt cheap and Americans start living happyly ever after, US $ recovers and becomes 20% higher than the euro, and visa stop bitching...

So far, the way I see it, the US people ended up fucked in their asses, with only a small percentage benefiting from the whole sharade.

You mean who? :winkwink:

I think about half Americans don't know they are fucked.

I think that the US should just keep it's money within it's own country. We're cutting funds in our schools and communities, so we can piss it away over in Iraq. I could see giving a couple of bucks, but HUNDREDS of BILLIONS is just a bit too much. Can you imagine what could've been done with that money here in the States.

AkiraSS:

You think only $300m?? It's not even started yet.

And yes, this has got to be the biggest taxpayer rip-offs ever. Tho US corps may end up getting the "reconstuction of Iraq" contracts, - but the money actually going back to the US is not gonna come anywhere near the final cost for the US in Iraq.

It's also going to cost more than "just money" - again, that's only just starting.

Without adopting the boring old rhetoric, you don't have to look far to see who is to "blame". :Graucho

no refund?

US said they "loaned" the money to Iraq.

Crap! Typo - I mean't to say $300 billion - but would love to bet it's gonna be $500b + when the truth hits.
