JamesK 10-20-2003 08:50 AM

fris 10-20-2003 08:52 AM

i signed up a while ago i never login, a friend got me to signup, people always add me, my network is just over 670,000 people, they use me for my friends i think

Rick Latona 10-20-2003 08:57 AM

You can do all of that with ICQ.

Yeh it was funny on the news they showed this one girl who has over 750,000 friends connected to friends connected to friends in her network.

slapass 10-20-2003 09:01 AM

Friend finder rolled out the same thing.

Tera 10-20-2003 09:09 AM

I am on there! It's a pretty cool way for me and my friends back home to keep in contact, but, the damn site is always fucking up, I like it though. I rarely go in there anymore, but it's nice to see my friends and what their up to, and who they are meeting and so on, cool concept for sure.

gornyhuy 10-20-2003 09:35 AM

Im surprised it hasnt' been taken over by link spam yet...

sherie 10-20-2003 09:36 AM

It's cool! I joined it cause someone made me...

socalcash 10-20-2003 09:42 AM

It will be interesting to see if this takes over online dating sites.

AmeliaG 10-20-2003 09:46 AM

I get invites to join this viral thing constantly. I feel bad ignoring them because of the name I think. Like not accepting the invite is like saying the person is not my friend. But I am so deeply not going to put my Rolodex online for more convenient access by people who aren't me.

Digipimp 10-20-2003 09:47 AM

I'm on there and I have no friends.

:(

TaylorM 10-20-2003 09:50 AM

I am on there too. It is cool and if you are single it can be used as a dating tool, however geography might be an obstacle.

Tera is right, the site is SLOW and down a lot!

It's fun though!

those personas kill me!

MaxDent 10-20-2003 10:09 AM

Friendster was designed to become a dating website, not just to track your friends. I've noticed a few dating ads but I think they are waiting until they have more users so they can integrate the 'dating' addition.

Too slow for me though, I've tried logging in and using my account but it is way too cumbersome.

naw, this one is real - robert smith from the Cure..I checked it out down the line through people...we have a lot of music industry people in our chain. As the Cure is one of my all time faves I dont mind saying it made me a bit wet.

Matt 26z 10-20-2003 10:49 AM

As of like 6 months ago the owners had invested $250,000 into Friendster, and it hadn't actually made anything yet. I don't know what the story is now.

WiredGuy 10-20-2003 10:57 AM

Interesting concept, would hate to spam my friends to join though.

nice site if you ask me, lot of nice chicks on that board...
signed up a couple of weeks ago and hauling some friends from the net. just some cheap past time job, im only in for the pictures.

fris 10-22-2003 01:53 PM

ya a month or two back they had to upgrade their servers cause it was being accessed so much. their crappy hardware couldnt take it. i guess the 486's they invested in werent up to par on the cable modem.

man, I am one of the most cynical bitches you could meet, I never take anything at face value. I'm telling you I checked it out and it is him. As, I said, we have music biz people in our chain. I just wish he was a little closer down my chain.

Zoe_Zoebaboe 10-22-2003 03:19 PM

Im on Friendster...had too many people wanting to add me.
