designers?
 

when you get a job offered to you that is of a sexual preference that is not yours, do you turn them down?

i think i would turn down all gay or tranny designs, as i dunno what a person would be looking for in a gay or tranny site. how can you sell a product you dont like, or may even disgust you? just seems impossible to me.

any thoughts from designers on these types of jobs?

I work with a project until the client is happy with the final outcome, usually that person understands the market, and can tell me what to edit or change if I'm not familiar with that niche.

i cant even look at scat without getting ill, i couldnt imagine having to design a site for it. :throwup

bust still man. if your customer gave you a bunch of pics of gay cumshots, what would you do, you couldnt pic one. at least i couldnt, i would them all and think.... cum was not ment for GUYS faces. they would have to walk me through it all. and at that point they are better off doing it themselfs. or hiring a gay designer to make them a good high quality product, made by someone thats into it, and knows how to market it.

the reason people hire designers is because they are or should be good at marketing and selling stuff, not just because they know how to play with photoshop. and a lot of clients dont know what they want, how do you bring something to the table to show if you dont even like it yourself.

i guess part of it is pride in workmanship. i could bring something to a client i didnt like.

I agree to a point, bigger projects, such as paysites or whatever, should be left to designers who can do that stuff (Gay, tranny, whatever...) but smaller projects such as galleries where they can easily be changed, I think anyone can do them with the clients minimal input, and still come out on top with a great marketing tool.

well it all depends on the project i guess.
but i would think for the smaller market of more targeted niches like that word is around who can design them to fit the market.

yea, i was mainly speaking about paysites, i usually dont touch smaller projects. galleries and stuff i would do gay ones probably.

Luckily, I'm a real hornball and there isn't much that turns me off. I'm in the perfect job for me, I guess, LOL! Personally, the only jobs I'd turn down are ones I really feel I couldn't do a good job with because they disgust me (scat is about the only niche that really disgusts me, as far as I know) or jobs that are illegal, obviously. I wouldn't do a beasty job or a lolita job (even those so-called "legal" ones) *shudder* I couldn't live with myself exploiting kids like that.

i don't know the sexual preferences of all of our designers as it isn't something I need to know. Do you really think most lesbian sites have been designed by lesbians?


If you work the niche you can know it. For example, I personally do pretty well with foot fetish but I don't have a fetish for feet. I just decided to talk to people with the fetish and do a lot of research and it has helped my sales.
