It'll only go down until something better is created :thumbsup

BRISK 10-19-2003 04:58 AM

:thumbsup

iroc409 10-19-2003 05:00 AM

it's due to the manufacturing process. apparently, it's very poor. something like only 1 in 4 displays coming off the assembly line actually work.

Not necessarily

xenigo 10-19-2003 05:01 AM

Well, I'd have to say it will be one bad-ass world we live in when EVERY TV is an LCD, and they're dirt cheap.

strobi 10-19-2003 05:01 AM

I like mine bigger... so plasma is here to stay:thumbsup

evildick 10-19-2003 06:02 AM

What is the viewing angle like on LCD tv's though? I know that is the main draw of plasma, (besides the size) the wide viewing angle and the fact that they are still usable in bright rooms.

iroc409 10-19-2003 06:05 AM

anybody hear about the new thin displays? they are thin as paper, and can be made to any size. pretty fucking cool shit, interactive paper :)

oh yeah, they're flexible like paper as well..

Im grabbing the 42" gateway plasma for $2k... gotta get the extended warranty with it as well... lifespan of plasmas suck i heard

4Pics 10-19-2003 07:24 AM

the lcd tv's i've seen look like shit compared to a tube or plasma...

KRL 10-19-2003 07:48 AM

The best displays I've seen are the ones using DLP technology. Next in line are the LCD models and then the Plasma's in last place.

The most incredible picture I've seen is on that new 30" Sony. Circuit City carries it. The thing is so sharp it looks like a photograph is on the display.

LCD's look good, was just checking the out yesterday. I have a couple plasmas, and they are not worth the $.

42" would be almost unviewable in our long-ass living room. Our 60" projection is just barely big enough for my tastes. I haven't been able to find a plasma or LCD big enough yet (that I could afford, anyway, LOL).

Although I disagree on the title, Cost of plasma is dropping even faster

TheFLY 10-19-2003 10:00 AM

visa?

Mr.Soze 10-19-2003 10:41 AM

I've read that they recommend LCD TV's up to 32-40", above that you should go for a Plasma.

Got a Sony 42" Plasma myself, not the newest model KRL posted, but the one before that,

Saw the lastest Sony 42" Plasma for sale here in Spain at ?9600.
Bet it's cheaper in the US.

What concepts from macroeconomics would you be referring to?

The study of individual industries falls under microeconomics, not macro.

hyatla 10-21-2003 04:25 PM

I will wait till 2007 to buy then. I waited untill last month to buy my first computer, since they say computer prices going down like a 1$ whore. :winkwink:
