Industry Response to Steve Easton/APIC
 

Hello.

Many people have said that they support what Steve Easton does under APIC and many people have said that he is rude.

I have heard it said that Steve Easton and APIC are breaking the law in a number of ways.

I am looking for more information on ways that Steve Easton and APIC may have broken the law or done things that are illegal under civil law.

Just so you know where I am coming from, I think Copyright Infringement is bad, and people who infringe should be made to be accountable for their actions.

However, making accusations against people who hold licenses, and making accusations against people who have not infringed is over the line.

That's the problem with vigilantes.

So, I ask you, if you are of like mind, and would like to see Copyrights enforced in a reasonable way, instead of the vigilante bullying style that I have read many people perceive Steve Eason to follow, please post information here.

What I'm looking for here is information about bad things Steve Easton has done, mistakes he has made (he claims he never made any), lawsuits against Steve Easton or APIC, or emails that make incorrect claims.

If you stole pictures, and are angry that you were caught, or are angry at the way you were treated, I'm not interested in your opinion or viewpoint.

I'm interested in those who have been wronged through no bad action on their own part.

I believe that Steve Easton is right more than he is wrong, and he yells loudly and foolishly at bad people who are infringing. However, he also yells at the wrong people and make bad claims such that the potential and real harm from his actions may outweigh any benefit.

Steves heart is in the right place, but is mind is somewhere else.......... We used to support APIC, but his way with words make me look like a nun...........

Thanks for the suggestion, i've done that and read many of the threads real time over the last 2 years.

What I'm looking for now is to elicit responses from people who want to get involved in mitigating the effects of this bad behavior.

I'm also looking for people that are interested in working together in some sort of an industry coalition or group of some sort to reign in this bad behavior.

I don't recall seeing any tangible action taken by people, short of threats and complaints.

There are apparently 2 Steve Eastons in the adult internet industry.

One of them is apparently a crazy acting canadian porn model and/or photgrapher.

The other is apparently a person living in the US who people say acts as a vigilante and is unintelligent and who bullies people until they give in to his demands.

So, they are two different people. Some people say there is a Good Steve Easton and a Bad Steve Easton.

Who the fuck cares who Steve Easton or APIC is - I sure don't, but sure gonna stuff his spam emails down his throat and take him for the last 10cents in his pocket if I ever hear from him again.

The guy is an irresponsible asshole - this is a pity because what he "purports" to do is valid.

He needs to stick with taking some pics and leave the "smarter stuff" to the more competent.

From what i can gather Steve Easton had some good idealogies however his machiavellian approach to putting these ideas into practise left somewhat a lot to be desired :2 cents:

I'm also interested in hearing about the large number of content owners and or photographers who used to support/pay/encourage Steve Easton and no longer do so. I have received 2 responses, I understood one to say that they decided the guy was a "big jerk" and the other person, as I understand, stopped being associated with him due to fears for liability.
