You mean, it's already done?!

skrog 10-18-2003 10:06 AM

Yes. Nothing can compare to the original. Its one of the best movies of all time.

The original Dawn of the dead is one of my favourite movies of all time. Why update something that is perfect, right dow to the goblin soundtrack?

I have taken a look at the new trailer and the new zombie dont shuffle about and catch you unawares, these fuckers run as fast as you can! Seems the director took a look at 28 days later and thought "That's a good idead". Except in 28 days later they were not dead but had "the rage".

I hope and prey that the new version doesn't fuck up the memory of what is a classic in cinema history. And why they didn't involve the zombie master, George A Romero, is anyones guess.

But I suppose I will check it out in March when it hits our screens.

They are gonna ruin it. I met Ken Foree and Tom Savini both great guys! I didn't get to ask about how they feel about the re-make. But it seems Tom Savini likes it. Since he is the new one. You can get a glimpse of him in the trailer. Rock N' Roll :thumbsup

I got the original cut of the sound track mp3'd. Anybody want this let me know. After Vangelis' Bladerunner this must be the most awesome movie soundtrack ever.

Wow you net a couple of hero's of mine!:thumbsup

As a thank you I would have thought all of the original cast would have got small parts along the way, either as zombies or survivors. Still, they cant ruin the original, only probolem being that youngsters today wil only now the latest version and probably not see the 1978 version.

I have about every version that came out of DOTD, including the German super duper full length version, which has no english soundtrack or subtitles. Needless to say I know the story well enough to still enjoy all the gore!

I wish they would redo The Thing and a few others...... I LOVE the original but would be cool to see it with the effects that they can do today!!!!!!!!!

Looks good in the trailer but everything looks good in trailers. :winkwink:

To change Zombies from shuffling slow coaches to sprint champs is a mistake IMO. All the very best zombie movies have them moving so fucking slow you could walk away from them no proble. But that was part of the deal. Slow, shuffling and they could still catch ya!

Some of the best zombies are found in all of Gearge A Romero's films, plus all of Fulci's classics, The beyond, plus one of my favs and a real hidden gem, the Living Dead Of Machester Morgue! A brilliant Zombie flick filmed in the English Lake district. It's available now through Anchor Bay. Check it out!:thumbsup

Fully agree. Are those DoD remake dead "fast"? That would kinda suck...

I wonder how good Texas Chainsaw is?

If they show that chick naked in it.. id pay to see it..haha

cluck 10-18-2003 10:12 PM

They better not fuck it up. I saw the preview while I was seeing Texas Chainsaw Massacre tonight and it looked pretty decent.

Nope no boobs whatsoever. It was a damn good movie though. I'd say it was as good as the origional, though it wasn't really a remake at all. Same basic plot but all the scenes were totally different.
