Cancer?

I rarely watch TV... except maybe for an hour during lunch or dinner when I'm home. All I've got here are the basic channels...

Sooo the other day I was watching MONTEL, and this kid Billy Best was on there telling his story.

I'll sum up his story....

* He was ~16, got diagnosed with Hodgkins disease.

* Hospitals put him through a few chemo sessions.

* He lost weight, lost hair, and was afraid it (the chemo) was killing him. His parents made him go.... so he ran away from home.

* It was a big deal locally, and eventually the local news aired his parents pleaing for him to come home. They said (in the plea) that they were made aware of some new mainstream and alternative treatments that he could take instead of the chemo. They begged for him to at least call.

* He saw his mom in tears & called home. He went home knowing he wouldn't have to do the chemo anymore. The "homecoming" apparently was picked up by national media.

* When he came back from running away they did tests again and found that the cancer was much worse than it had been before he left.

* Because of the national coverage all of the "Cancer Cure" vendors both mainstream and alternative came out of the woodwork sending them samples and telling them to try their product or protocol.

They also received many phone calls from people who claimed to be cancer surviors using a variety of mainstream and alternative methods.

The one thing they noticed through the phone calls was a lot of people using traditional treatments for hodgkins and other cancers were going through their 2nd or 3rd fight against the cancer.

* After reviewing the countless traditional and alternatitive treatment options, Billy Best and his family decided on a couple alternatitve treatments they would try. One of them was based in Canada.

* Billy and his family informed his doctors that they would not be continuing the chemotherapy.

* The doctors then turned his family in to social services for child endangerment, who then threatened to take Billy away from his parents and force him to do the chemo. (wow)

* Keeping their promise to their son - Billy and his dad fled to Canada so Billy could undergo the alternative treatment they chose.

* 2 months later he returned - "cancer free" and supposedly remains cancer free to this date.. years later.

I'm a very skeptical person by default.
I want to find the angle and prove people a liar, because in most cases they are, and there is one.

But something about this whole story... I think it's very honest and true. Could be wrong, there are a lot of scammers out there. But I don't think so in this case.

They misdiagnosed my grandfather with cancer. We believe they did it intentionally because it was an upstate hospital desperate to boost revenues. We sued the hospital and won.

He died from what they did to him.

:BangBang:

DO NOT TRUST HOSPITALS! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING $$$$$!

Get 2nd and even 3rd opinions from doctors before beginning any major treatment like chemo.

Fucking bastards killed the old man.

That is so sad. But you're right - don't trust hospitals OR doctors. Everyone is out to make a buck. Recently I saw something on CNN about doctors who didn't reveal all the options patients had available just because they knew the patients insurance wouldnt cover them. Fuckers.
