Best restaurants in Chicago?

I moved here a month ago and I don't really know the area or the restaurants and I'm getting tired of eating from sub shops and frozen dinners.

I want to go somewhere *really* good.
Italian or steak house would be good. or whatever.

any recommendations?

Greektown is near UIC. More precisely at halsted and Jackson. Mr. Gyros is open 24 hours. Sometimes after working all night I get the munchies and head over there at 7am for a gyro and cheese fries. Place can be packed at 4am when the clubs are closing. Lot of hot Greek chicks there.

Charlie Trotter has a restaurant in Chi town. Copied a meal from a televison show he was on "great chefs' or something, salmon with fennel and pasta and it was excellent. If I can copy it and make it licious, his place has my recommendation. manga :xomunch
