What's the lowdown on this frontier? I keep reading about adult webmasters jumping off the wagoon and into mainstream, I'm wondering what it is people are getting into. I know I should'nt expect much of an answer, but I figure it won't hurt to ask.

in mainstream you need to have a product or service of some kind. just building up traffic and trying to make money with mainstream affiliate programs is a waste of time.

Im continually looking for some mainstream ideas to try but wont do it unless i think its something that will make money.


Alot of these adult guys that act like hotshots and say they are doing mainstream projects usually are back in a year or so when it didnt work out.

Yeah, all the ideas I've come up with really don't revolve around any kind of affiliate program.

The problem is that the product with the lowest overhead is information/data, which is essentially all that adult is.

The information market is already over-saturated. I mean, how many different ways are there to sell bullshit over e-bay or sell stupid java-script tricks to ignorant surfers?

I fear that all markets online are going to be controlled or monopolized on by the first and the most powerful, who have an advantage over the regular joe-webmaster that does'nt have large capital to start a profitable website; such as a travel agency.

You would have to partner with a dropshipper at some point (speaking from an average wm's point of view, without millions to invest in products at wholesale, logistics and storage) in order to make money if you're going to sell products.

It seems to me that the more that adult gets oversaturated, the smaller the chances of an anonymous entreprenuer to stake a claim in some aspect of online profitability at all.
