IF you have Asian traffic, I would send it to an "Asian site". ie one that has Japanese, Korean and Chinese languages. Well, Chinese isn't that important at the moment :)

Check out my site, or I can recommend others that might be more suited to you. We are a 100% Movie site that offers what the Asians want.

I do both teentokyo and 99bb and they are both very good. Teentokyo for English speaking traffic and 99bb for asian traffic. I would say 99bb is the only solution for asian traffic.

Another asian subniche site which does incredibly well right now for me is www.teenfilipina.com.

but $10 per month is too little to even worth try promoting, thats waste of traffic and money

Its true that the Western guys that like Asian Women tend to go with sites that stick with the typical site design. ie the Splash page and a Tour.

We are introducing more and more Western Movies to our site. Before we only had a few "broadband" Titles. Now its 35+ This will hopefully encourage more members from the US and Europe. We are also going to get non Japanese Titles. So if anyone has some high quality non Japanese video content, get in touch.

The 99BB signup process is baffling but it does work.

Teentokyo seems low but the volume is about 4:1 over the more expensive sites. I do an SU on teenfilipina at least once an hour.

99bb, what percentage of your sites members would you say come from which countries? I'd imagine Japan and Korea make up the majority, what about US/Canada and Europe?

Aint that the truth :1orglaugh I've been trying to get things sorted for a while, but the model works In Asia. There are no problems that end, hence just converting over to English !!

TeenTokyo does look nice. Good variety of content. Plenty of different Nationalities. I am sure it does well.

When we first started, we charged our members $19.95 and offered our webmasters $15. No western webmasters wanted to touch this program, even though it was converting really well. We have now increased it to 29.95 euro for the first month, which then drops to 19.95 for each consecutive month. this was basically so we could offer our webmasters more :)

TeenTokyo looks like a similar scenario. I am sure it converts well, but due to the low payout, it doesn't get alot of webmasters.

Presently I would say 92% come from Japan. From the stats that I check, it is done by browser language. The next largest is English, followed by Korean, and then Chinese.

We are household name in Japan !! Lots of articles in Yahoo! broadband magazine etc..

I havent really been actively promoting the site in the west. the conversions were not that good, and I didn't want to waste thousands of $$$$ on advertising or encourage webmasters to join unless the conversions were good. we are slowly building the site up so I can approach western webmasters with the fact that we have a kick ass site that does convert to westerners and not just Asians !!! Therefore making both parties $$$$

With Asian traffic, I would say we are one of the best. However, converting the site to westerners is difficult. Like I mentioned in an earlier thread, 99bb is different. We do not have a tour as such. Visitors can go to our members section and see the vast collections of movies we have. this is very different from other sites in the west.

However, I feel the tide is turning in the Industry, and surfers dont want to be duped into signing up for a site to find "F" ALL. They will be more willing to trust us, because we show them what we have. Thats the plan anyway :)

But, this also has its problems. :(

Have you thought about creating two seperate tours? One for asians and one for westerners? Then you could detect the browser language when they hit your mainpage and send them to the appropriate tour depending on what language they speak.

Like I said, we are one of the biggest in Japan :)

Just need to even out the western side of things. Come Christmas, with the new design and content, we will hopefully have something that will do just that.

This is what we are doing. The boss still wants the site open !!, but at least it will be more appealing to the western market.

Man, I have so many ideas, its just that we "have" to follow the Japanese model. Annoys the shit out of me at times, but heh, thats where the $$$ is coming from.
