so I'm desiging my first real tour right now and...
if you could give me 1 tip to remember when desigining a tour that converts what would it be?
:helpme I'm going to try to do it on my own to save a little cash. I dont care if it looks sharp because it wont with my design skills, I just care that it sells. |
here's three....
eye contact with the surfer = good implant scars = bad lots of red = bad |
- cool down on the free content and previews
- forget about the '3 page tour cookie cutter' type of design. - cool down on the "400.000 pics inside XXX MEGA" type of lines basicly: keep it simple, keep it dirty, keep it amateur style, put something strange and bizar on front of it and itll sell. |
thats pretty funny because I really was going to make it all red and silver and have about 5 pages of samples of what's inside :1orglaugh
ok this is good, thanks |
Different types of sites require different approaches. Different types of traffic work better with different types of tours too. The comments above hold true in certain instances but won't in others. So to answer your question without knowing site type and if you'll be getting most traffic from TGP/MGS submissions or SE sources, etc... that's tough to do.
But a few things that always help: 1) Make sure the join link is in contrast to everything else on the page(s) and stands out. 2) Make sure the join link appears within the first browser window (without having to scroll down) preferrable at a rez of 800x600 (which means 730x340 for workable space) or 1024x768. 3) Content, content, content. People whip out their credit cards because something they see in the tour gives them a hardon. The text you use and stuff helps but it's more like a little spice added to a good meal. You need the good food more than the spices on top and the good food is what pics and.or vid samples you entice them with. Don't give them enough to whack off to. But give them something they just GOTTA see more of. Then of course make sure that stuff is easy to find in the mem area or your trial conversion will suck ass. =] Hope ya' find that helpful some. Good luck! |
depends on the type of site..... so it's hard to give specific info. But one thing that will apply to any site....
think TopLeft Z formation eye path. Set three major focus points at different levels and fill in around those evenly to balance the browser. Always lead.... ALWAYS. Remember, YOU are in control.... not the surfer. Be the fucking ball. |
