My acacia decision
Nope, no package yet, but I was thinking about it the other day.
1.5% is an extremely small amount to pay for peace of mind, much lower than the standard protection rate paid in many brick and mortar businesses today to various gangsters or unions. And yet, after thinking about it, I won't pay. I categorically reject the idea that its a "business decision" to pay extortion. It would probably make good business sense to screw a few people I have done business with too, especially the timid ones or remote ones. That could make me a few more bucks with almost no risk, for sure. Once upon a time, people stood for something. They did the right thing, even if it didn?t work out the best for them financially. Its called balls. Some have them; some don?t. So when Acacia, comes knocking, here is my answer, which I intend to immortalize with a short video clip emailed to their attorneys in clear violation of their patent: ?Lick my hairy ass?. Much better to run my porn business into the ground and spend the last dollar in court, then pay a single cent for ransom to a bunch of dopey fuckwits. Think about this: years from now on your deathbed, when your life flashes before you, do you want to remember 2003 as the year you cut a good deal or the year you acted like a man, regardless of the consequences? Just a thought. |
