CECASH.....anyone encounter this?

I use CECASH for my bullshit traffic and do pretty well. But today for example, I'm got 28 email signups as of 6:00 PM and no confirmations? People can't be that dumb, can they?

I would be obliged if anyone can post their comments and/or results (IE ratio of confirmations to actual "sign-ups").

tell me more about your sig..

funkmaster 10-15-2003 08:22 PM

28 unconfirmed email signups .... that's amazing, I couldn't get to those numbers in a month time ...

joseph4829 10-15-2003 08:24 PM

I get about a 5:1 ratio for signups and confirmations.

You said yourself it was a BS traffic, maybe this is the reason ...

Yes, bullshit "cast away" traffic but my no means shit traffic. My ratios have always been around 4:1 from THIS traffic source. I think 34:0 is a big change, don't you? That is 34 e-signups and NOT one confirmation. The odds on that are pretty high I would imagine. Normally I get about 16 e-signups a day with 3-4 confirms..

You guys be the judge. I am just telling you my numbers.

Is that 80:1 per email confirmation (meaning 80 e-signs to 1 confirmation = $1.50) or 80 Uniques to one. It's got to be the 80 uniques because that is about my ratio of uniques to e signups NOT confirmations on what I consider not great traffic.

Bottom Line...If this keeps up I'm just going to re route this traffic back into my own "ring of fire" and filter it through topsites, CJ sites, etc and squeeze an extra couple signups a day. I'll try that with 50% of this traffic and post the results next week. 7 Days should be a decent test.

I like CeCash and I use their stuff but you guys are nuts. 5:1 on on converting the person after you converted them? Then add in the ones that drop and you are down in the .01 a unique. Rotate in a FEB's page or amateur money pic click and see if doesn't blow the mags away.

BTW they are confirming but if they are already in the DB you don't get paid.

Good info. Thanks and I will still use CECASH to a certain extent. I don't entirely like affiliates of any sort for several reasons. I'm re routing a lot of my traffic back into my own sites like before and building new sites to facilitate the extra traffic.

There is apparently some confusion here. What the original poster is talking about is people who sign up for the free mag but then do not confirm the email. Nothing to do with what percentage of clickthrus sign up.

I've had mixed results, and I have to admit I don't understand why someone would enter their email and then blow it off when they get the confirm email. Just what the fuck is IN that confirm email? :) I usually like maximum info, but in this case I think I prefer FEBs reporting, don't tell me shit until I'm going to get paid :)

I usually get 1 confirm for about 5 signups myself. But to be honest I'm not sure I'd do any better with FEB or I'd be using it.

Stop crying...
I did 1:250 with email signups.

Well put and my point exactly. I honestly signed up for one of their mags and it's "brain dead" easy on the confirmation email...you just click a link, how hard is that?. The only problem I could see is if you didn't read English very well. I truly believe it's that simple. If I was CECASH I would have various languages based on the surfer's location but they probably already know this and just keep the emails anyway. Just my guess.

ravo 10-16-2003 06:31 AM

I just checked our CECash stats, and 4 emails to 1 confirmation looks about the average.

But, I would not expect to see this ratio for the past 24 hours. There could be many reasons that it's higher;
- People don't check emails right away. They may sign up today, but not confirm until tomorrow.
- CE might have a glitch in their sendmail, and confirmation emails are not sent instantly; perhaps they are batched.

CE Webmaster Board may be the best place get this info from.

We've also noticed that the email to confirm ratio has worsened. I think more ISPs and surfers are spam-blocking, so some of the confirm emails are not being seen.

You got it.

The same thing is going on with tgp submission confirm emails.
