Who watches the rugby world cup?

Just curious... USA has a rugby team, but does anyone care?

Anyone else watching? :)

Yes USA has a rugby team but they have absolutely no chance of winning the WC.

All the matches are shown live in the UK but rugby is not as popular as the TV stations lead you to belive, and is regionalised in the UK. Only in certain areas does the sport thrive. Internationals are well supported and as England are favourites to win the World Cup, these televised matches will draw a larger audience, but all in all the country is certainly not gripped by rugby fever.

:2 cents:

I predict England vs Australia in the final, should be a great game.

Aussies are going to take it! Obviously, Canada is my first love, but unfortunately, I am not that naive.

Rugby is a sick sport.

For the upcoming New Zealand vs Canada game, I'm predicting NZ 80 - Canada 0

The Aussies might have the crowd behind them and be on home soil, but they are not in the same class as England. I expect either an England V Australia or England V New Zealand final, with the English winning by 10 points.

Now wouldn't that be nice to beat the aussies for a change!:Graucho

unfortunately don't think there is a very high chance of aus making the final :( unless of course they are timing the peak to absolute perfection.

Old thread...I know... but for the few rugby followers here;

just watched USA loose to France but would have to say it was a great effort by the US against such a long established powerhouse. Some great skills and that little flyhalf is a champ.

Actually its been a real treat to see teams like that (USA, Japan, Canada, Namibia etc) put on such excellent displays against the odds. I bet the next RWC in '07 throws up a few surprises.

I'm an Irish Aussie so will probably have a heart attack tomorrow night no matter what happens!

Was watching up until last week. how are my All Blacks doing? France has a suprisingly good team.

Great sport. A joy to watch.

I am glued to it & I feel confident that England can triumph :thumbsup

Project-Shadow 10-31-2003 05:37 AM

New Zealand & England :thumbsup

I heard someone say.. and I think it was Peter Fitzsimons

" the winner of the world cup is as plain as black or white"

not a bad call either I think

England or New Zealand

Personally as an aussie, I'd prefer to see England win something for a change, or of course the Wallabies win, but in the end those are the two form teams :2 cents:
