Now this pisses me right off....
I just got an email sent to me from "Yahoo!' for an email address "[email protected]" that said the following.....
********************** Dear Yahoo! User During one of our regular automated verification procedures we've encountered a problem caused by the fact that we could not verify the data that you provided to us. Please, give us the following information so that we could fully verify your identity. Otherwise your access to Yahoo! services will be closed. To verify your information please follow this link: https://www.mail.yahoo.com/config/users/verify.htm Thanks for using Yahoo! Mail. Sincerely, The Yahoo! Mail Team ****************************** So being curious, I clicked on the link in the email and of course it takes me to web address defined by an IP address and not a URL and on that page is asks for my credit card information and everything somebody would need to steal your identity. The sad part is, some people would probably not notice these things and would gladly supply that information to "Yahoo" and then end up being screwed over by some fuck-off dickhead. So I reported it to the hosting company the IP address is registered to, to Yahoo! and to the FBI. We will see what happens I guess, probably nothing. Flow |
I guess that link does not work so here is the page you are taken to if it worked right....
http://66.175.63.58/verify.htm?acc_n...no&res=success Of course, I emailed them back in reply and it came back to me as undeliverable. Flow |
serves you right for using yahoo in the first place
|
seabornemedia.com
|
I don't get viruses with Yahoo! and the spam filter works great (that email actually came to me in the spam folder) unlike Microsuck Outlook Express
|
LOL.
I've seen some "paypal" e-mails like that. The paypal e-mails ask for your card numbers and your PIN numbers, lol, even your drivers license and SS number :winkwink: |
So did this one
|
swap the IP with seabornemedia.com...
same thing, go to whois, and get their phone number.. phone number matches the address, give them a call. |
oh fuck i better cancel some of my cards
|
I think we should all call them (though I doubt very seriously they are truly behind this)

:feels-hot I hate fuckin scammers. And I truly feel bad for the people that don't know any better. I can honestly say that even people in my family would fall for things like this. It really is sad and the worst kind of violation. It threatens your identity. Try proving it wasn't you... Tough shit will be the best response you get.
