Privacy, ICANN and DirectNIC?
 

Okay this isn't a DirectNIC bashing thread, I love them... I've never had any problems with them and I am already aware that this is somewhat out of their hands and yes, what happend was my fault in the first place, but what do I do now?

Registered a domain and enter some phony info for privacy, forgot to change it, then got the "please fix within 15 days" email about a year later.

Fixed it, but now you have to send in:

copy of a photo id
phone bill for the number used
proof of the address used

I have a PO box now but my home address is on my ID and I just don't feel comfortable sending this and my bills over. Maybe I'm overly paranoid... what would jesus do? Would he just let these domains go? They aren't really dear to him.

is it possible to transfer them to a diff registrar?

btw, tical wanna get a madden2k4 game in later?

Dunno... I sort of like directnic, this sux... ICANN might as well ask for my social security number and pin code

As for madden, yes I'll whip that ass like the Rams did the Falcons yesterday.

if possible, it might work out better just to transfer those domains to like GoDaddy if they're worth saving. continue using directNIC for future purchases though, but use your right info.
