pathetic.

Besides Acacia, there is SightSound suing CDNOW/BMG over the paid downloades of digital audio/video, and USA Video suing Movielink.com for downloads of video faster than real time.

Burst.com has a patent earlier than everyone, and could be the next Acacia.. they are currently targeting Microsoft.

Another player into this mix is E-Data.... i was going to post about them, but decided this is all too much... we should just focus on one battle at a time against this war on business and patent abuse.

man the patent office needs to get it's act together... IMO you shouldn't beable to patent an Idea... if you can't build it.. then you shouldn't beable to own a patent for it. This would be a direct way to stop all this BS patent abuse.



pretty soon someone will own the patent for thinking.

Patents are supposed to be for the purpose of protecting inventors, yet these inventors can turn around and sell their patent to any Joe Schmuck that wants to pay the price.. So now Joe Schmuch can claim patent rights to an invention that he had nothing to do with..
The patent then becomes a business tool and defeats the purpose of a patent..
Patent law definitely need to be changed..
