Is it worth buying a PS2 for one game?
 

I really love Grand Theft Auto 3... Should I buy my own Playstation 2 for one game that I play so I can stop having to go over to my friends house?

clearly you haven't played it on a good pc. the resolution is soooo much more detailed. once i played on a pc i couldnt go back to the crap-ass rez of a ps2.

I'd go with the PC version graphics are soo much better detailed than PS2's.

get vice city, not gt3

I liked GTA3's city better but Vice City had way more shit to do.

Get the PS2. Besides as time goes on there will be other games that you will want. The system is pretty cheap now.

PS2 is great well worth the money... i have an xbox and don't like it yet... maybe down the road but the xbox only games that are good are few and far between imho. The PS2 stays plugged in at my place.

get an xbox, a gta3/gta VC combo is coming out early november, plus it is more powerful

GTA Vice City (PS2 version) is superb. PC version Vice City suxx. on PS2 u have much better graphics and is more playable :) I am playng VC on PS2 from 6 months and everyday I am discover some new things :0 This will never boring :)

But on PS2 u have many other great games.. like Socom (online), heh... but buy a Network Adapter.

DUDE, what are you smoking ??? I have the PC version and the graphics are a LOT better over the PS2 version. I have both versions and haven't went back to the PS2 since because the graphics seem horrible after playing the PC version. I guess that it all depends on what kind of PC you have, if it's not up to par, it might not look as good. I have an Athlon Barton 2800 with 1-gig Kingston 2700 Hyper X ram and a Radeon 9700 All-In-Wonder Pro, so it ROCKS here :)

The Xbox version will support custom soundtracks just like the PC, so you can rip some MP3's to your hard drive and listen to them while playing. Sounds pretty cool. The PC version is definately the best one so far, but I just don't like playing it with a mouse and keyboard.

Yes, GTA3 and GTA VICE CITY are two of the sweetest games and you'll be equiped when the new GTA title comes out :thumbsup

X-Box controllers are uncomfortable and feel cheap IMO.
