Just like any other ad campaign, determine what your goals are--do you just want to BRAND your product or do you really want ACTIVE webmasters? The latter is very very hard to recruit. You may get TONS of people signing up but...FEW will actually promote...and FEWER still will actually make sales...and EVEN FEWER STILL are ones who actually stay on as volume affiliates.

SARCASM AT ITS BEST!

Most of these companies that advertise on this board gross 6-7 figures monthly. They can afford to spread the $$$$ around.

I bought 1 month spot for 2500 but didn't see any special profits.I think its about long term advertising - people must see that you are here and stable.
I don't agree its wasting of money - you simply have to try

As has already been mentioned companies spend $$ on advertising for a range of reasons the least of which is to attract new affiliates.

Branding, Market Recognition and well, lets be honest, general 'whos dick is bigger' reasons too.

Back int he day when YNOT sold a banner space for 15k and the auctions started many companies spent in excess of 25k to buy an ad spot to prove their dick was bigger, of course, that was when there were only 2 or 3 actual resources around for them to advertise on.

If you need a hand choosing a few alternatives in addition to GFY to spend your advertising $$$ on feel free to shoot me an email over to [email protected]

There are alot of benifits to advertising on GFY that many people either don't think about or don't take advantage of. Keep in mind also that you dont necessarily need to be in the top spot to reap those benifits. Email me at [email protected] if you'd like more details and I'll get back to you tomorrow morning, and actually I'll be working most of today anyway so if you'd like to discuss this sooner post your ICQ number and I'll contact you that way.
