the Valentine One is by far the most advanced.
It sees forward backward and side to side, it can put your threats in numerical order of most importance and from which direction the threat is coming from. You can also relocate the face panel in a hidden part of the dash and direct wire the unit in the headliner, concealing the entire unit. you can only buy it direct at valentineone.com They are not cheap but they keep everybit of their resale value. I sold a 3 year old one on Ebay and it got just 20 bucks less than a new one. Anyone that says a Passport or a Cobra is smoking dope and has never used a V1 |
Agreed on the valentine one. I have two of them and they just rock!

k40 custom install. $1500+, but it gets the job done reasonably well.

main option.. i've heard from numorous people that your mobile gives out short interference signals when there's a radar cop nearby... you need to have your radio/cd player on though... and the usual interference signals you get when your phone changes frequency towers is pretty much the same amount of static you'll hear......... if you don't know what I'm talking about ... call yourself and put your phone on the dash of your car :) either that.. or you could just buy a radar detector for your dash... I think they're illegal in my country but they're legal in canada etc (guess our cops are REALLY after some income) :thumbsup |
Radar detectors are illegal here.
If you cant stay under 90 then get a Ford Festiva ... 0 to 90mph in 35 mins downhill. :thumbsup |
most cops don't use radar anymore, they have instant on flash laser, which will probably bust you. But the Valentine One can detect when the laser is powered up in the cop's car ready for use.

It will pick up the the flash laser if its powered up in the cop's car and ready to use.
Then again some cops turn on and zap at the same time. And in that case, no detector can help you. |

Try Bear Tracker, it worked great for me until the cops changed to digital radios.
Bear Tracker tracks police ban radio and measures the signal strength to determin distance. |
Valentine 1 :thumbsup

you don't need a detector, you need a scrambler, especially with laser being used. Since laser is point and shoot, by the time the detector tells you it is on, it is too late.
Scramblers on the other hand trash their signal so they never know how fast you are going. It should be pointed out that most cops in their testimony will say something along the lines of, "I observed the defendant traveling at a high rate of speed that I estimated to be (insert # here) MPH. This was verified by my radar/laser unit." The point being, the cops observations will take precedence over that of a machine. Same as if a DUI breath machine doesn't show you to be legally over the limit, but the cop saw you swerving down the street. |

One time I was driving through Utah, nothing around for at least 70 miles and my detector starting making noise so I slowed down from my speed of 115 mph. I drove at least another 25 miles before I drove by the cop. |
Never had any luck with detectors myself. Round here cop gets out of his car and hides behind a wall and just points the radar thing at car and your busted.. Am on 3 month driving probation yet again...:(

holy shit it's pookey!
