Verotel?? Do they respond to emails.

Hi,

Does anyone have any postback documentation for Verotel or know if they do such a thing, so it can be integrated into affiliate programs?

Verotel takes FOREVER to respond and when they do, it's some cookie cutter "please read the faq" response.

Thanks

Interesting question, I was wondering this myself the other day.

If you just need something triggerered by a signup and don't need any other info, you could hack the password script to run another one, but the only parameters available to that script are username, password, verotel secret, action (add/delete/modify) and the fee charged.

Have you tried their online webmaster help? I've used it a few times and most of the time the outcome has been successful. One issue I was having was particularly complex, so it was nice to have it wrapped up in 20 mins worth of chat rather than a week's worth of emails back and forth.

gave up after the 5th time or so contacting them.

You can send 3 custom values with your join button code:

<input type=hidden name=verotel_custom1 value=blabla>
<input type=hidden name=verotel_custom2 value=blabla>
<input type=hidden name=verotel_custom3 value=blabla>

only letters and numbers are allowed. These values will be passed to the verotel script on your server. Guess you need to modify the script yourself so it's accepting and storing the values.

It's posted something like this:

username:password:amount:secred:custom1:custom2:cu stom3

I played a few hours with it and it's working fine

Hope this helps...

Marcel

oops... my sample code was not shown, retry

type=hidden name=verotel_custom1 value=blabla
type=hidden name=verotel_custom2 value=blabla
type=hidden name=verotel_custom3 value=blabla

Hmm.... it would be nice if we could

(a) collect the email prior to signup and pass it to the join page

or

(b) have the email passed to the password script

That way we could send a welcome email.

I guess you could write something that receives and grabs the data from the webmaster notification emails, but the format varies depending on the payment method...

I think some of this info is out of date, I have similar info from my signup email in early 2002... "verotel_trans" is ignored, you have to explicitly configure your charges in Verotel's control panel. This is my one major problem with them, it means that I cannot offer special deals that are accessed with a particular code - every surfer sees every payment option...

Yea i agree they take ages, but i found that if you log in to your account and follow the help link you can get live chat with them, which works pretty well.

So, anyone got it integrated yet?

We want it into Monolith...
