Robber says can of beer was bomb

A man who robbed two banks in Miami told staff the can of beer he was carrying was a bomb.

Daniel Gallagher was arrested by police near the second bank he'd robbed after he stopped to rest.

The 46-year-old said he got the idea to hold up a branch of the Total Bank after seeing police arrive at the Citibank he'd just robbed.

Gallagher told officers he thought they'd be so tied up with his first robbery, that he could get away with a second one.

He was pointed out to police officers by a witness, says the Sun Sentinel.

Gallagher was later charged with two counts each of armed bank robbery and threats to discharge an explosive device.
