just a useless rant ...

i wonder why there is oxygen everywhere? I mean i know that tree's exhail oxygen, but doesnt the atmosphere get full at some point?

and why is there never like a "dull spot" where there is no oxygen? like you would be walking down the street, and all of a sudden cant breathe ....

just makes me wonder, and i wish i knew more about this stuff but i am too damn lazy to read up on it!

ok im done .... see you later, and sorry for useless thread.

Go to a local community college and enroll in a chemistry glass and learn about gases, solids, and liquids.

X37375787 10-08-2003 10:32 PM

you are really dumber than the tree's that exhail the oxygen.

MuleScrote 10-08-2003 10:34 PM

Just stay out of my oxygen....and I don't want what your exhaling either.

Jamdin 10-08-2003 10:35 PM

Considering how much pollution and humans there are now and how less trees there are remaining on earth, there will never be enough fresh oxygen.

ThunderBalls 10-08-2003 10:40 PM

You must be smoking some pretty good shit.

Want to find a dull spot? Get a plastic bag, and cover your head with it.

On a serious note: There's a place in africa (saw it on national geographic) where a lake (next to a volcanoe) spew out carbo dioxide gas in great volumes. I presume CO2 gas is too heavy to rise (like Helium), so it ramained at tree level. Anyhow, animals that was unforunate enough to wander in areas where CO2 displaced Oxygen gas did not last very long.

The sad part is, as dead animals mounted, other animal predators such as hawks, eagles, and hyenas wander in the CO2, Oxygen displaced area and they too ended up dead.

An eagle was filmed trying to eat a carcass, but apparently, it was not smart enough to realize the lack of oxygen and simply died. There's one "dull spot" for ya.

Nas7782 10-09-2003 12:26 AM

When I said "like Helium", I meant to say that Helium is light, so it rises.:)

exhale

e x h a l e

:glugglug I would like to hypothesize that any individual releasing copious amounts of Hydrogen Sulphide combined with Methane out of their ass on a fairly regular basis would be likely to displace any nearby oxygen (aka "The Blue Flame trick") :glugglug

Same here :(

reynold 10-09-2003 04:32 AM

dumb man, dumb man...

C (carbon) + O2 ('free oxygen', dioxide) = CO2 ( carbondioxide) - this is what we and other animals exhale and what virtually any energy-consuming process produces

using UV and H2O, plants take the C to produce glucose and O2, which is what people inhale, eat and burn to produce... CO2!

;)

reynold 10-09-2003 04:34 AM

But I'm sure you knew that - at least I can't imagine you didn't ;)
