NaughtyJenn 10-08-2003 11:59 AM

anyone?

LSASS is Local Security Authority Service. (Handles Windows security mechanisms. It is a system process.)

CSRSS is Client Server Runtime Server Subsystem. (Handles Windows and graphics functions for all subsystems. It is a system process.)

SMSS is Session Manager Subsystem. (Initializes system environment variables, MS DOS device names such as LPT1 and COM1, loads kernel for Win32 subsystem ans starts the Windows log on process. It is a system process.)

So you should not shut those down. They're fine :)

Yes they are system files

There is an old worm that makes copies of them though

info here

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...lbug.worm.html

but if you already did a virus scan you should just have the original system files and no need to delete anything :)

I've used both and like both. I thought Mac was far superior with handling graphics and large files. PC has it's good points too. Had 2 of each in my old office (previous job)... They have a lot of similarities as far as navigating around.... only took me about 10 minutes to get used to the Mac and I had been a PC baby my entire life.

I think Norton is way less likely to jack up your system than Macafee

NaughtyJenn 10-08-2003 01:32 PM

i was using avg at first.. and love it.. but then i installed macafee to c if avg was missing the virus or something.. then retarded.. just installed norton :)
