Which spam blocker do you use?
I think I've tried them all.
I was using Spam Butcher, and it rocked until Spews went down, then it was shit. I tried SpamArrest, but I don't like their 1.5 hour delay in getting approved mail, and they were down twice in one week, and you get no mail! I bought McAfee, and it's trash. Now I'm testing Ella, and it's pretty good. What about you? |

I use SpamPal. Free to download and works like a charm.

I dont use Spam blockers

SpamAssassin
http://spamassassin.rediris.es/index.html It works on your server, so no memory drops, it's instant off the mail queue, it's one of the most updated, it uses a vast array of checks, a points system and a white list, and does a pretty good job of seperating adult spam from good adult emails. it's also free. |
i still filter

spam spam spam :)

K9 from keir.net
free and kicks ass. it takes some time until it "learns" but after 100-150 messages works very good. |
I use Mailwasher to download headers. It can be set to cross-reference with several of the well known databases (ORDB, VISI, Spamcop, and Osirusoft) and allows you to add others. It marks the headers that are on the blacklists, contain a virus, or are spam or possible spam. It allows you to easily set up a friends list and add to the blacklist. Allows for creation of filtering rule sets. And one of the best things, it will send 'bounce' messages to those you want to. Often getting those bounce messages gets you removed from spam lists.
After I've gone through the headers, it deletes the emails I tell it to from the servers and I can download my real email. |

I dont use any I gave up hope.
I just start a new email evry so often. |
I never have found one I really like. The delete button doesn't take too much effort and something like a big virus kicking around the Internet is filling the inbox with too much crap it only takes a min to setup a new rule.
|
I use the filters in Outlook.
99% of the spam goes to instant delete. |
I just gave up, nothing is 100%

I use Mozilla's spam filter. Work quite well after adjusting it to the usual spam I get.
|
I read every email I get just in case I miss a real one :smokin

none for some. spam assassin has nabbed more than a few that were not spam. |
I just press Delete a few hundred times a day and setup Junk Mail folders for repeat spam's.

I use mailwasher... works pretty good. You control it locally, and you can blacklist solo addys or whole domains, and there is a "friends" list you can add addys and domains to also tolet certain ones through no matter what. You gotta add domains and addys to your blacklist manually, but once you blacklist something, if you get another from there, you can autobounce and delete it from the server without you ever seeing it. not too bad for a free tool. www.mailwasher.net |

The delete key :) It's the only way I don't "filter" the good emails.

I just use web.de. The email provider puts emails where it is sure it's spam in a folder, everyting where it's not sure in an other folder, and everything where it is sure that it is no spam gets in the inbox. :thumbsup
|
I use our new product: EmailSpamBlock
I went from 300+ spam email/day down to 50... It's not live yet, but once it is I can spam you with e-mail messages to buy it ;) ~Alli |

I have been using http://www.giantcompany.com/ for awhile. Works very well.

I use the built-in filters in Apple's Mail.app. They seem pretty good to me, and sometimes I boost them by creating custom filters, etc.
|
Spamarrest....works like a charm when their not offline
I don't care about a 1.5 hour delay.....it's better than spending 1.5 hours digging through heaps of spam or spend 1 hour per day tweaking email filters. DynaMite :2 cents: |
We use Spam Assassin on our mail servers. Properly trained its very effective. It supports several blackhole lists, white/blacklisting addresses/hosts, bayesian filtering and the standard "rules".

Best program ever.. the DELETE function! Heres some Tips: Quit submitting your email to every form be it online or offline, dont give it out to everyone, read the fine print when including your email in any signup etc. :) |
McAfee works fine for me
|
I personally haven't had any problems using mozilla's Thunderbird instead of microsoft outlook. Nice feature on this is with it's built in spam/junk mail trainer you can train it to get rid of the spam. It's hard to explain but works very well from my experience. No complaints here, yet.

SpamCop and all their extra filters.
|
I use a method called "REVENGE" it doesnt cut down my spam any, but its still pretty damn funny. :1orglaugh
|
Netscape, why bother using anything else when it filters all known spam and "learns" what I consider spam so it filters all new spam messages? :thumbsup
