The score was 9-8, with a couple errors....really solid pal.

1-0 or a 2-1 game without any errors, now that would be a solid game.

Try putting on your thinking cap for this one....a pitcher would rather warm weather than cold.

Those can be great games too, but for pure excitement and drama, this one was right up there. Four run lead by the Cubbies right off the bat then the Marlins go deep three times in an inning to take the lead, then back and forth until Sosa's drmatic HR with two out in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. Then Mike Lowell, the Marlins best player this season, comes off the bench to deliver a pinch hit home run....awesome stuff.
Look for a 3-2 type game tonight with Prior on the mound.:winkwink:

some of you have problems reading.

I didn't say it wasn't a great game...did I? jesus.

I said it wasn't a solid game...which it wasn't.

teams giving up 8 and 9 runs isn't solid.

It was a great game....but not solid.

well lets see
100% humidity will wear you out MUCH faster than a 50 degree day ( ask any sport player 95 or 55 degrees) hmmmmm

sweat will cause lack of control on throwing the ball

just a feww off the old thinking cap

:thumbsup

You've obviously aren't an atheltic person.

Any athlete would rather play any sport warm and sweaty, than cold and tight and risk injury.

Remember...use the thinking cap

You're not athletic and you're one of those people that only follows sports during the playoffs.

Toronto has one of the best young teams in baseball.

2nd best offense in the American League this year.

2 of their players will be in the top 3 in MVP voting (Delgado and Wells) and Roy Halladay will win the Cy Young award.

If they pick up a starting pitcher that can give them 15 wins next year and a good closer the Blue Jays will make some noise.

Forest 10-08-2003 07:56 AM

Also they play in the hardest divison in baseball, and like I said they're young.

Bookmark this thread for next year this time.

The Jay's will finish 2nd if not first in their divison next year and be in the playoffs.

PotentMind 10-08-2003 08:13 AM

I said they have one of the best young and upcoming teams in baseball, which is a fact. They just need a couple more pieces and they will be right there.

They aren't in a market where they can just go out and buy a winner every year. They build winners.

sperbonzo 10-08-2003 08:19 AM

Actually....I have two extra tickets for game 5 on Sunday at 4pm in Miami/Proplayer, (I bought 10 on line the moment they went on sale). Upper level between home and first. Section 445 row 13........anybody interested?

You can call me

Sorry I assumed the word solid in the same context as great. Wow dude, lighten up a little. And by the way, I read just fine. By your definition, only well piched games are "solid." This game was "solid" in the field as evidenced by Florida's Alex Gonzlalez' two fielding gems including a smash off of Sammy Sosa's bat. There was some "solid" hitting i.e. Pudge Rodriguez' three run homer and two run single late in the game. And Braden Looper pitched a "solid" 11th inning to seal the deal for the Marlins.
Now all you have to do is take the "solid" stick out of your ass and relax a little.:winkwink:

The Cubs will be back in form tonight. Friday as well. Prior and Wood are NAILS!. Too bad Sammy's clutch game tying HR was for nothing. Just a minor setback. This is the year! :thumbsup

How did you score that and for how much? There are like 12 pages of tickets for sale on Ebay, but some of the bid prices are outrageous.

Materialist 10-08-2003 10:45 AM

Hell of a ball game.

EZRhino 10-08-2003 11:02 AM

It was a good game, but Cubs will takethe rest.
