As part of the Adult Biz, I cannot vote for Arnold
Sure, he's down with gangbangs and ass-eating, but that aside, I cannot support Arnold or the recall.
Lower taxes or not, if you vote Republican, you're voting for the party that is this industry's #1 enemy. The more power they have, the more power they can flex. If he wins, it could also stir the pot up for a Bush victory in CA next year, which helps ensure 4 more years and major DOJ crusading against our business.
Economy-wise, I'd also rather be in a 33% tax bracket and make $150,000 than pay 28% in taxes and only make $90,000. I'd rather take a safe bet on a Democrat stimulating the national economy than align myself with the Christian Right.
But what really bites is that if Arnold is elected, he will not be likely to voice opposition or shield the state from obscenity prosecution or any other iniatives by the national morality police.
Because of the recent allegations, he will have to look super-sensitive to anything that would offend women or seem sexist, and he will end up going along with whatever restrictions or bans the conversative right wants passed. He already refused to speak out on the LA lap dance ban, which negates part of the attitude many guys like about him.
With a shorter elected term for the winner, I think that Arnold would spend the entire time working to ensure re-election and making over his image to more of a "compassionate conservative."
Plus, if he hadn't run, Flynt would've had a decent chance...
