Michael Moore's New Book Released On Tuesday

http://michaelmoore.com/

Michael Moore's New Book, "Dude Where's My Country?" Hits the Streets This Tuesday

I have written a new book, and this Tuesday it's being released. It's called, "DUDE, WHERE'S MY COUNTRY?" Because its content is likely to upset more than a few people, the publisher has "embargoed" the book until midnight Monday (which means no store or media outlet or anyone has access to a copy of the book until then).

They have taken these measures because I have written a book that seeks not to defeat the Bush people next year, but to have them removed from Washington right now. I know, I'm not asking for much. But I have spent the better part of the past year researching and writing this new book, and when you read it you'll see why the current criminal investigation of the White House for outing a CIA agent in revenge is, in my opinion, just the tip of the iceberg. I can only hope that my book will make a small contribution toward that day when we'll see one long perp walk of administration officials in handcuffs being led out of the White House and into a waiting paddy wagon. Like I said, I'm not asking for much.

"Dude, Where's My Country?" is also my humble attempt to violate the Patriot Act on every single page of the book. And, I have learned that many want to get on John Ashhahahahaha's evildoer list with me. There are already a record number of orders from bookstores across the country. The first printing alone is almost one million copies (my last book's first printing was 50,000). Chapters include "Oil's Well That Ends Well," "The United States of BOO!", "How to Talk to Your Conservative Brother-in-law," and more. (Click here to see the cover that will win me a free ticket to Gitmo)

If you get the New York Times, you may have noticed a mysterious ad for the past four days in the Arts section. Each day, the ad simply asks a new, pointed question of Mr. Bush. They are questions from my new book, from a chapter entitled, "Seven Questions for George of Arabia." We are running one ad each day until the book comes out on Tuesday. In case you've missed them, here are the first four:

- Dear Mr. Bush, is it true that the bin Ladens have had business relations with you and your family off and on for the past 25 years?

- Dear "Mr. President," what is the "special relationship" between the Bushes and the Saudi royal family?

- Dear "Mr. President," who attacked the United States on September 11th?a guy on dialysis from a cave in Afghanistan, or our friends, the Saudi Arabians?

- Dear "Mr. President," why did you allow a private Saudi jet to fly around the U.S. in the days after September 11th and pick up members of the bin Laden family and then fly them out of the country without a proper investigation by the FBI?

In my book, I provide some of the answers and all of the background evidence. It is astounding, and it is criminal. Will there be one Democrat in Congress willing to begin the investigation?

If you want an insight into the book, this article gives you a pretty indepth overview (does that make sense:) ) of the 7 questions he wants to ask Bush.

Some very interesting things are brought up.

Dude, Where's My Country article

Bring the haters on :Graucho

as for some of this nonsense. The bin laden family is a big respected family. The father built a huge construction business. Just because their son is a fuckup, why blame them.

Last time I checked Saudi Arabia was our allies. Last time I checked they kicked osama out of the country. Last time I checked the family denounced osama.

Being in America after 911 wouldnt be a very safe place for someone with the last name Bin Laden and related to osama. Its called protection.

Sarah_Jayne 10-06-2003 07:30 AM

just because you read something doesn't mean you agree with it all...hell, I read your posts.

Bex 10-06-2003 07:30 AM

I think it will at least be worth a read. :2 cents:

Toolz 10-06-2003 08:01 AM

I think you guys need to take a closer read of Michael Moore's books or for the short form watch is movie's, Roger and Me, and The Big One. He's not an attacker of just the Right Wing or George Bush, he's constantly attacked big biz and the government no matter what party is in power. I'm sure he's classified by the FBI/CIA/NSA as one of the most dangerous people in America, because he does his research, digs up dirt on companies/government and exposes it. You've gotta admit one thing about Michael Moore, he has cahones the size of basketballs.

4. Why did you allow a private Saudi jet to fly around the US in the days after September 11 and pick up members of the Bin Laden family and fly them out of the country without a proper investigation by the FBI?

Private jets, under the supervision of the Saudi government - and with your approval - were allowed to fly around the skies of America, when travelling by air was forbidden, and pick up 24 members of the Bin Laden family and take them first to a "secret assembly point in Texas". They then flew to Washington DC, and then on to Boston. Finally, on September 18, they were all flown to Paris, out of the reach of any US officials. They never went through any serious interrogation. This is mind-boggling. Might it have been possible that at least one of the 24 Bin Ladens would have possibly known something?

While thousands were stranded and could not fly, if you could prove you were a close relative of the biggest mass murderer in US history, you got a free trip to gay Paree!

I admire Michael Moore just like I admire Bill O'Reilly. Smart enough to suck millions of people into buying their drivel.

I don't see why anyone thinks Michael Moore has big balls. He's just publishing what a lot of people already think anyway.

Danny_C 10-06-2003 10:05 AM

genomega: I believe he has already addressed all of those things.

rooster: It's nice to see that the right still believes that reading turns people into sheep. Still, you should give it a try.

ronaldo 10-06-2003 10:07 AM

I'm not a huge fan of Michael Moore but he does raise some interesting points and I'll give him credit for that.

My biggest problem is with the title of his book, "Stupid White Men".

That title is okay to be released, but I defy someone to release a book named, "Stupid Black Men" or "Stupid White Women". The backlash would be such that there would be a huge boycott of the books.

But, it's safe to slam the white male.

His own side of the "Facts"

There's a reason his voice is trying to be silenced in this country and if everyone's thinking what he's think then why aren't they saying it too? As Larry Flynt best said it: "Why should I have to go to jail to protect your freedoms"

Who's trying to silence him?

What about the more than one million war protestors at various US cities? They were silent? Every card-carrying Democrat I know agrees with Michael Moore. That's saying something given that Democrats are a majority in this country.

sperbonzo 10-06-2003 10:28 AM

I don't see what the big deal is about Bush.... Over 100 people from the Clinton Admin went to jail for illegal activities, Clinton accepted illegal campaign contributions from foreign goverments, he did business with / helped supply weapons systems too / helped the nuclear programs of, hostile goverments (N Korea and China), etc, etc, etc..... and the counrty came out just fine. I don't know why everybody is getting upset about Bush doing similar things:2 cents:

sherie 10-06-2003 10:32 AM

I am looking forward to this new book. It doesn't matter much what everyone thinks if he can back his claims and statements up. And from where I sit he has done just that.:2 cents:

People made a big deal about Clinton too. (Some still do). It's all the rage for a while and then the next president comes along and it starts all over again.

well, the book was about white men who are thought to be stupid...the other title would have been misleading.

Come on dude, that's complete BULLSHIT.

"a lot of people already think anyway".

They don't have any FACTS. And sorry but they are less than 2% thinking that... look around you for god's sake. MOST americans are plain stupid and brainless.

Canadians too, BTW.

Michael Moore is a genius...a satirical writer...than has found a niche that is making him rich...as well as a cult following. I find him amusing for what he does...but to take his satire seriously...is a bit much...for me.

I became a MAJOR Michael Moore fan after watching Bowling for Columbine. That film just rocked. I didn't agree with the stuff he said at the awards, but overall, the guy has balls, and I admire that. I hope he does really well with his new book, I know I'll be downloading a pirated copy! :Graucho

cluck 10-06-2003 08:31 PM

Just went to #1 on amazon.com

Michael Moore's a funny guy and he does shed alot of light on alot of subjects, but his major problem is sometimes he makes attacks that can be proven wrong. Like the one rooster shot down in this thread, it should be common knowledge that not evern bin Laden is a terrorist and that it was for their own safety that they leave the country.

From the excerpts I've read however, he seems to say things like that alot to lure people in. His section on "how to talk to your conservative brother in law" actually points out alot of the flaws of people on the left. In fact it points out alot of the things that the right uses to discredit the left and embraces them.
