Anyone ever take realtor classes?

Anyone? I start tomorrow and want to know how hard they are. Its going to suck because it will be 40 hours of class in 1 week.

you are getting in at the downslope of the industry aren't you?

Nice :thumbsup

My brother is thinking of starting realtor classes in the next few weeks too but because one of his friends in Jersey wants to have a way to bilk money out of the Floridians LOL

From he tells me they can be quite mentally taxing from the amount of time spent on them but the classes themselves are not to difficult.

I'm not doing it for a career really, just for some easy $. I've been searching realtor.com for my dad and he bought some houses because thats what he does. And it kind of pisses me off that I find the houses and some realtor gets the sales $ for it. Not to mention that when you have a realtor license you can use better searching tools and see houses a few days before people searching on the net can do it.

If you DONT need the money it's a lot of fun. you drive around and look at people's houses all day.

if you do need the money it can be real tough to work on deals and have them fall apart and you make nothing for all of your effort. You can make $10k in 1 month, and then make $0 for 5 months after that. and in most offices they make you answer the phone for free.

a lot of people in my office worked night jobs as waiters and shit.

But there are a lof of people who make megabucks doing it.

I hired a teemarketer to make cold calls for me, I did pretty well.

This is too strange. I was just thinking I might need to take courses because I intend to offer services *to* realtors, and I'd like to have access to the things that they do in order to facilitate doing some things *for* them.
Plus it would be really cool to be able to just breeze into vacant homes and take a look around - I love looking at houses :)

nice. =) Im consistantly still seeing an unbelievable amount of refi's and purchases... hell, 30year rates are back down to 5.5-5.75 now...

though friday's job and consumer sentiment will knock it down this week, unfortunately

I'm pretty sure with just your license you have to work for a Broker still and they take a cut. So you may want to take that also so you can keep all the pie.

yeah no doubt eventually. i think if you list a house you get 1.5%, if you sell the house you get 1.5%, and the broker gets 3%. the person who has the house has to pay 6% after it sells.
