I rented one of the loaded nice ones last time I went down south... very nice ride, the manual is fun as hell, great car for the money. A whole different class than a Civic.

If you don't have the cash check out the new Sentra's too, my buddy just got a new SE-R and it's really nice, fast, and a great price. Either one is much better than a Civic.

Go for it, they are super fun. I'm a bimmer man, but if I was looking in that price range, that'd be my choice.

That or a 99ish Maxima... black with black leather, and the chrome rims... those are comfy, fast, and look pretty sharp.

Maxima is a good fucking car since the day they came out.

540i ;)

...but till BMW goes AWD on the 5's they really don't compare. Our next door neighbor has the big engine A6, and I've played in that quite a bit in the snow... I have to admit it is a little better than the 540i, though AWD doesn't make the HUGE difference I thought it would.

AWD in a 5 is going to be some sweet shit. However, putting skis on the top of a 540i is like putting KC lights on an M-Class.

I love mine. I have 2002. Make sure you go stick and get the 3.5L. the only bad thing is 5 gear is too low. I tend to do 80 a lot and it makes the engine noisy and gas mileage sucks. Still fun as hell.
