Has my site made as much as it can?

I've had my site for 3 years now.. and seem to be hitting the ceiling in profits.

How do you know when it's time to start a second site or if you need to get more traffic to your existing site?

If your site is uploaded it's time to make another one.

I think that answers your own question.

As long as it's making the $$$$ it's all good... :glugglug

I thought the same thing.. but by creating a second paysite.. I'm looking at double the updates and content.. also double profit :)

What do you guys think of archiving a site.. letting people no that no more updates are coming.. then starting a new site? I haven't seen it done before.. and an archived site will still bring in those who haven't seen the content before.

Agreed. :)
Why NOT start another one? There's no reason not to. This one will continue on, so baby a new one for a bit and get it going.

I appreciate you input Evil1.. but same goes for paysites? Original content sites like mine take a lot of work to get the material and maintain.. what do you think?

More good quality sites = more good $$$ if you do it right!

You already have the traffic now you can further filter it to a new site and so on...what's your site(if you don't mind)

i don't think an archived site would do good, obviousley not as good as a the same site you are currently updating. so expect a loss.

and as for that ceiling, i dont believe in it.. diversify your advertising. theres more customers out there.

Get as many sites as you can and create a way to link them all together.. If you get just one listed well, then the others will get on the s.e. band wagon soon after..

Bladewire 10-03-2003 04:38 PM

Thanks for the input Jdog and Brad ! My only concern about a second site is shooting twice the content. My current setup is weekly updates.. that means 52 models a year.. so two sites is 104 models a year. A lot of work.

Can I still be successful and not update weekly?.. maybe monthly? I have more hookups for a new offshoot of my site..but the workload is daunting.

Finding really good advertising sources seems to be a problem. Any contacts?

That's great advice ! I'm definately going to do that if I start a second site..

This is a big business decision.. with a huge commitment.

I don't own paysites but I've heard that it may be hard to completely close down a paysite.
You will not get new subscibers, but you will have chargebacks and your chargeback ratio will be probably to high for the creit card companies.
I simply had read somewhere about it.
