Free/Cheap Advertising?
 

I have a newbie friend who's slapping up a freesite and was asking me if I knew of some free or really cheap ways to advertise and get traffic. Honestly, I couldn't help him, all I know of are paid advertising that are a bit too steep for him and really not worth it for the site he's got.

Anyone have any suggestions that might help?

Already got that venue covered. I got him setup with a few link exchanges and added him to all the major search engines (which obviously are going to take 5 months to get the site listed). But as hoping there were other things that I didn't think of.
