Cutting up images
What program do you guys use to cut up images?
I usually use photoshop, but I have a fairly complex design, and cutting it up in photoshop doesnt seem to allow me to lay it out the way i want.... |

It's easy in Fireworks

I usually use the 'invert selection' thing in the 'select' menu of photoshop and cut it into a bunch of blocks by using that. If you need to add images to it [like .gif`s] then just make them the right size.

What's the problem Gexus? You know you can do layer-based slices, right? |
i think this guy means cutting up the 800x600 image into smaller images to load up fast and have animation etc.
I use paintshop to do this copy the whole image and paste it over the precut images (you have control over where it is exactly placed and can move it easily as you need to a few times and save it as you go to line it all up. To line it up i just use my eye and refreshing the browser. I am sure there is better software to actually cut it up wizzywig and i think this is what he is looking for. |
