Q: Ever do something stupid that turned out right?

Long time ago while in college, I was working at a newspaper in the news room.

One night I had to go to the college library to finish a report. Everyone had gone on vacation spring break but I was still working on my reports for a news story.

I pull into a big ass 1,000 car parking lot with 2 damned cars in it besides my own.

I park near a street pole and go take care of business. Come out 2 hours later hop in my car, pull out of the spot and SCARAAAATH
realize there was a dark sedan parked next to me for some dumbass reason. Mind you, since the school was out the street lamps were shut off just about to conserve energy and I did not see this dark freakin' car next to me. I noticed it was beat up and had no crome anywhere nor insignia.

So being the good dude I was I went and got the campus cop and he took down the report. As we stood there next to the cars two guys and two girls come wandering up outta nowhere and it was their car.

Something funny was going on as we were exchanging information and the cop who knew me told me to go on back to the newsroom where he'd call me later. So I show up late and get egged for it and then a few hours later a bulletin comes in:

Two kidnapped teens abducted from their home, two men arrested.

You got it, the same guys who's car I scratched had kidnapped these two girls, stolen a car ( hence no insignias ) and were bringin them upstate to party.

So my boss looks at me and says he got a call from the campus cops who were leaping for joy and that it would be the top news story of the evening.

Go figure...

Oh, btw, the dudes got like 13 years or something in the joint. Seems they had pulled this shit before but no one ever caught em.

That's pretty amazing!

I don't have anything that extreme, but I think everything in my life has been a weird chain of mistakes and learning experiences up until this point - where I am finally getting settled in and happy.

So that's kinda a long stupid thing that turned out very right. :)

What a great story... once I kidnapped these two girls with my friend and some guy scratched my fucking car. They gave me 13 years but I broke out and have been looking for the guy that put me in jail...........

NAWWWWW!

Ain't fallin' for that one!!! Besides the two guys got their butts kicked so bad in prison when they got out one totally reformed ( last I heard ) and the other one goofed up and is in again til who knows when.

See the moral is:

Crime pays except when you're stupid.
