How long until an expired domain can be registered?

I've had my eye on a couple domains for about 3 years now and they are finally expired. How long do you have to wait before these can be registered?

lol probably.. they are really good one word domains.. been watching them for 3 years now. I just backordered them all.. thanks for the advice juicy juice :)
