CANCEL ALL REBILLS, terminate IPSP accounts & shut down remaining sites?

Is this possible?

I don't really have anything going on anymore with member sites anyway...

I would rather preserve my status and good standing with visa/mc in order to be able to process with them in the future if I chose to do so.

I have a feeling that things are just going to get much worse, or a little better (after some big lawsuits) and I'd just assume sit on the sidelines for a couple years and see what happens.

Also, I'm real curious if getting put in the "high risk" terminated merchant file is the same as the mainstream or "normal" terminated merchant file.

ie.. if you get put in the high risk TMF, will you be denied mainstream merchant accounts in the future because of it? Wouldn't that suck.

Without getting too deep into it....

the very little amount of income that they still generate under my old sole proprietership is hurting me more than helping me.

couple that with the new visa/mc regulations, the risk and exposure just doesn't seem worth it at all right now.

It would be a different story if I was actively promoting new paysites.

Cancel the rebills and extend everyone's membership by a month or two, if you have the time. Explain to them in an email and also on the site why you are closing. Make sure you stress that they will not be charged any more, and you are giving them the extra access for free. That should ensure that they are happy and are less likely to chargeback just to spite you.

I doubt you could cancel your IPSP account immediately, since you would have reserves withheld/released for the next 6 months (possibly longer if you cease new signups completely)

If he's scared the 1% rule will fuck him over, why buy it? It must be crap...I'm not even trying and I'monly at .3% . The 1% issue isn't even a real issue to the people who handle their business...
