National Net down?

Not sure if this has already been posted. I'm having trouble getting to sites using their hosting. Anyone else?

xxxdesign-net 10-01-2003 08:05 PM

Herb Kornfield 10-01-2003 08:08 PM

up now but loading slow....headed over a globix pipe per trace from my cable modem.

Maybe an upgrade that made things get a lil wacky for now

That comparison is way off base. National Net is up for me. I am sure if there are any issues, they are working to resolve them.

Donny 10-01-2003 09:54 PM

I'm up. No one has emailed me stating my sites are down. I host most of my sites with National Net.

If they were down, which I doubt, it must have been something fucking big.

I just ran into this prob as well, seem like people who are using att.net ie comcast cable modems might have issues getting to nat net sites.. who knows tho..

darnit 10-02-2003 12:59 AM

mentioned in other post but im using comcast cable (formerly att) and all nat net properties are DNS erros.....

darnit 10-02-2003 01:17 AM

* bump for stats remote *

need my stats darnit!

anyone else having issues with natnet hosted sites?

save11 10-02-2003 03:21 AM

I'm on comcast in Seattle and having alot of problems including stats remote and nat net sites

Petr 10-02-2003 03:23 AM

No problems here from Europe

BaldBastard 10-02-2003 05:25 AM

My servers at National Net have been fine for the past 48 hours In fact yesterday was my biggest traffic day in the past 6 months, maybe thats why pk was down cos I was getting all her hits :)

PersianKitty 10-02-2003 07:02 AM

I'm still unable to load anything off National-net. That includes their site itself, statsremote, discountpassbucks, platinumbucks, and anyone submitting sites, or galleries to me that are hosted there.

Peaches 10-02-2003 07:12 AM

Has anyone actually picked up the phone and called NatNet instead of posting here? :eek7

BTW, NatNet and CJ are both up for me. :thumbsup

Hi all,

PK, I'm not sure what you're seeing (or NOT seeing) but we are absolutely NOT down. There was a minor issue yesterday when one of our major providers went down, and things were a bit slow for about 15 minutes while the traffic propagated to our other connections, and that provider is now back up to 100% for us and has been since about 9 PM EST yesterday....in fact, I was quite surprised to even see this thread!

- Bill

PS. PK, if you (or anyone else here having problems) see this post, can you call me at 770-471-9075 x 234? I'd be curious to find out why you (and some others here) can't get to us.

J B 10-02-2003 08:39 AM

The problem must be with comcast... so far I know of about ten people that use StatsRemote and can't connect right now... they all use comcast...

RawAlex 10-02-2003 08:59 AM

You might also be the victim of one of those nice trojans... I had one not long ago so fucked up the hosts file that whole chunks of the internet didn't work.

PK, you might want to (if using XP) click on start - run- and type in ipconfig /dnsflush and run that. It will clear up any caching you have of IP addresses and such. You might also want to reset your net connection completely, just to be sure.

I have a number of boxes at NatNet, and if there was any issue, I would know (and Bill will testify to my ability to spot 10 second network glitches!). :-)

Alex

Hi JB,

This makes sense. I just got off the phone with Sweet T who called me and was telling me that he could not get his email or get anywhere on the net. He uses Comcast and it looks like Comcast in Atlanta may be down or having problems, so anyone using Comcast would probably not be able to get to us because we use Global Crossings as one of our providers and Comcast peers with them in ATL. I'm having one of my network engineers contact GBLX to see if there is a resolution in the works...

PK...thanks for the call :)

PersianKitty 10-02-2003 09:03 AM

The problem is intermittent this morning. Just got off the phone with Bill. He's going to trouble shoot. It's definitely something in how comcast routes to national-net.

Curious to know who what provider went down? As we had an issue with a carrier as well...didnt have any downtime from it, just some latencty issuse, bgpd over to another carrier for a bit until they resolved it...let me know

EZRhino 10-02-2003 10:45 AM

99% uptime is tough to keep up. Everyone has problems at one time or another.

voodooman 10-02-2003 10:57 AM

I would like to see the number of times Nat Net has been broght to the boards for complaints in the last 5 years.

Oh wait, there hasnt been any, and there is a good reason
for that.

:thumbsup
