What do U need for DRM to work?

I know it's probably been asked before but can anyone give me a quick overview of how DRM WORKS?

Do you need a winodws server?

Can you do it with a Linux Server?

thanks in advance

vapewiz 10-01-2003 05:52 PM

A drm provider is easiest way.

www.drmnetworks.com is good from ccbill.com

there are also others you can search google.com for them or go to microsoft.com and search on DRM.

thanks but does anyone know if a linux server can be used or is the windows server the only option?

thanks

Either one will do as long as they have the lastest update of Flapjacks installed. If I remember correctly...GrimShawn had an issue with DRM and it was because his host was running Flapjacks 1.3 or something like that. It took them about 3 months to figure out.

So very true! I had to upgrade to Flapjacks 2.0.... Went soo much smoother!

I really enjoy how Flapjacks 1.7A runs, so many features that they didn't put into 2.0!

Waffler had too much hot air in the presentation.

You mean 2.7A?

Naughty 10-01-2003 06:08 PM

Didn't Sobe have patent on the DRM v1.0b and any and all future releases?

StuartD 10-01-2003 06:08 PM

Yeah, I thought I could get around it by getting Flapjacks off kazaa, but it just doesn't work pirated.

You have to buy the license.

anybody that is using 2.0 or below hasn't installed the latest security patches. it'll still run... but it's an open door for expierenced system hackers

Nono, I really didn't like 2.7A, everything was far too sticky by 2.7A. 1.7A had a nice flowing mixture going.

I hate when they try to butter you up with these upgrades that offer so much more but just don't come out right.

Good thing you are a content producer cause you sure don't know shit about Flapjacks.

Wiseman 10-01-2003 06:13 PM

I personally think that Ego's VS 2.67 will be the best!!! Just make sure you get the newest update!!
If you dont it could get a little sticky!!!
So often times going with an expert is the way to go!

So I would probably say
ASK THE LITTLE JEWISH MAN TUCKER

That's why you let your host set it all up.

Hey, I know my way around Flapjacks just fine! I just look for different features then you do! That's it, I'm going back to Waffler, I feel too much hate with you and your Flapjack supporters!

Flapjacks? u guys making this up? whats the url :)

there are alot of DRM packages out there, most of them work with windows media 7.1 - 9 content depending on what they incoprated.

As far as I know there isnt a *nix version of a drm solution out there, if there is I would like to know about it .. I perfer *nix over M$ :) but you use what you can.
