Using PO Boxes to receive sponsor checks...

I have a couple different projects going where I often use the same sponsors in each project. I need an easy way to separate incoming checks based on project. The easiest way I could think of would be separate mailing addresses for each project. So I was thinking of grabbing a PO Box of some sort to receive checks from one project, while receiving the other projects checks at home.

Does anyone else do this? Is this a stupid idea? Foresee any major flaws?

I have used a PO Box since 1996 and all my porn money has always gone there.

Good thing too, I moved 3 times since then.

Unless you live in a wierd apartment ect, why not just add a department: XXX to the address.

Dept: 101

Just make sure the sponsor knows what is up... 3-4 mailing addresses on the same guy might look a little fishy...

...as for using a PO BOX, definitely do that. I'd rather have my domain registrations pointing to and my checks arriving at somewhere that is not my house.

That's another thing, I have to move pretty soon, changing addresses with my sponsors is not something I'm looking forward to.

1 P.O. box, and use the department scheme on the checks.

I have to use a P.O. Box..they don't DO home delivery here.

If your going to move, just make sure that you have your mail fowarded.. that way if for some reason the sponsor doesnt change your address, it will just foward to your new house.

Good thinking. However, I don't refer myself and I know the owners of most of my main sponsors. They're all onto my scheme of ripping them off. I've stolen $5k so far this month, and it's only the 1st!

Watch out in the T&C... a few sponsors don't allow PO boxes, so you might want to go to a "MailBoxes, Etc." or "Parcels Plus" type place and get a box there. They make the address read "Suite XX" instead of "PO Box XX".

Personally I'm using a US PO box and have had no problems. PO box section is even open 24 hours.:thumbsup

quite a few sponsors don't allow PO Boxes, unfortunately.

Hopefully they would make exceptions in my type of case where I have no choice but to use one.

hey Sly - how you doin?

i got an account with http://www.usabox.com/ a few years ago.. they give you a street address so you don't have to worry about that some sponsor will not allow it. they also offer nice deals like weekly shipment of everything or a online junk filter (u can "remove" mails over the net).. :thumbsup

I use PO Boxes :thumbsup

MBE-ups store has boxes with 'PMB ***' and the address you'll better off this way

evildick 10-01-2003 06:59 PM

Can't you just sign up for more than one account at the sponsor(s)?

Then when you get the checks you will know which "project" it was from since it will have a different account number on the check.

Sly_RJ 10-01-2003 07:01 PM

They don't always list account names and numbers. And of course I could create 2 accounts with the sponsor, that's what I do. Keeping the checks separate is the problem.

i also have a mail redirection service for some stuff. i get a full mailing address, which is then sent where ever i like...
