The deadline where you have to have a charge back ratio of X % otherwise you lose your rebilling privellages.

Stud Money 09-30-2003 01:48 PM

And all the BS compliance stuff they want from us in addition to the %age crap.

You can lose your entire billing privileges not just the rebills.

VISA will enforce the new 1% rule, they have been very strict on enforcement with 2.5% for the last year.

Is anyone here knows how exactly this rule related to AVS? I.e. do you think that AVS will be affected as well?

Traditional AVS sites are not allowed under VISA HRIPSP rules, if you have one up you should be prepared to make drastic changes in order to become compliant with the VISA rules.

The "compliant avs" will also be subject to the 1%.

All adult sites/Sponsored Merchants under 5967 are subject to the 1% rule.

These changes are not essential and required for just a few systems only (such as CyberAge etc). So this is not a problem.

But how exactly this rule will affect the AVS? Will it be aplied to the age verification systems in whole, or will it be applied to EACH particular AVS site?

Ummm... in layman's language, what does that mean for operations such as Adult Check, Cyberage etc?

Any site which sells / grants access to urls which are not registered with VISA is considered non-compliant with VISA HRIPSP rules. AVS sites which have not gone through and registered EVERY webmaster and url belonging to their AVS is non-compliant (they are considered a non-registered HRIPSP).

If your sites belong to an AVS which has registered your urls then you will be monitored seperately just like all the other webmasters.

It means they either have to change the way content is delivered ie all content comes from their own registered domains.

Or

They need to register all of their webmasters and urls and pay the fees.

Interesting :Graucho

Therefore, would it not be prudent to assume that sites such as Google, Yahoo etc, are not allowed to bill using Visa, afterall, they 'grant access' to sites (of an adult nature) not registered with Visa Intl.

I hope I don't have to pay sexkey for my sites....Since sexkey uses CCbill and I'm already registered with CCbill, I hope I'm granted an exception...I sure shouldn't have to pay twice..

Wouldn't you say that's a little presumptious of you, considering you're a guest on Lenman's board?

GeXus 09-30-2003 03:31 PM

This is my perdiction..

Sites offering cheap trials and then converting to $40+ dollars a month, will suffer.

So trials may begin to wither. Sames goes for sites offering 1$ and rolling over to $40 etc..

Sites without good content, or that dont deliver what they promiss, will suffer.

So, Basically what will happen is.. All the BS sites will suffer, and the good sites, with good content will survive..

But wait... If less people are offering trials, or lets say NO one offers trials.. then people will be promoting regular monthly fees..

So what does this have to do with gallery conversions? Well.. TGP traffic converts much better with trial signups or cheap signups.. SO.. what will happen?

All TGPS will begin to only show thumbnails and no large pictures, therefore people will be more inclined to pay more for a monthly membership...

Ok.. Hey.. It could happen..

My point was, visa vie your response above:

Quote:

That Google, Yahoo etc GRANT ACCESS (albeit free access) to adult/high risk sites. Does this open the potential up for companies such as Google etc being charged these fees based on what could potentially happen with the current AVS business model in the immediate future?

That's not an answer Lee.

The question was - do you believe in breaking the sig rules?

Do you think that's a clever thing to do, considering you're a guest on Lenman's board?

Well??

No, because being able to access the sites from the SE is not dependent on someone entering their VISA credit card.number.

Neither was it for one or more of the AVS sites that recently closed/changed their TOS.

I agree that delivering what you promise is a key to avoid chargebacks.
But you never know when you are going to get a chargeback. Some tools are
needed to fight back

Are you referring to the rumored .5% threshold or the cancellation of rebilling for porn sites?
