My car was stolen last night!

Someone stole my fucking car! The police called this morning & left a message on my voicemail at like 6am. By the time I was awake it had already been towed. Now the officer is gone for the day, the report has already been sent downtown & no one is able to tell me the condition of the car - I don't even know if the car is totalled or if I should pick it up at all. Of course the towing company has the car at a different location & they don't even have a # at that lot so they can't tell me either. And I'm supposed to pay the impound fees for my stolen car. Fuckers! :BangBang: :ak47:

I would have thought they would have chapped you up, rather than leave an answer phone message...

It was a 94 Chrysler Lebaron, I was actually planning on selling it next month, now it's probably totalled, oh well. There were problems with the alarm system so I had to have it completely removed. :1orglaugh Oh, the irony. It's just more of an annoyance then anything, I had several outside sales meetings today that I had to cancel. And I live in Hyde Park, it's supposed to be the "upscale" part of Tampa. I thought this type of thing only happened downtown in the shady neighborhoods. :BangBang: Bastards! If someone was pissed at me this would make sense but I can't think of anyone...

mine is broke, its not the car's week :(

The towing company said I need to come to his location, make the payment & then I can go to the impound lot & pick up the vehicle but like I said I don't even know if it's totalled yet. They're kinda being dicks about it considering the situation. The police officer who was involved only works the late shift, she'll be back on tonight at 7, I'm going to contact her directly first & find out what condition the car's in before I do anything else.

Bex 09-30-2003 09:40 AM

Shitty way to start the day!

JACASS 09-30-2003 09:49 AM

Fucking towing companies..they live for this shit. They will screw you out of as much $$$ as possible. Sorry to hear it man..:(

Mr Pheer 09-30-2003 10:03 AM

things like this is what insurance is for
your insurance company should reimburse you for all towing and impound fees

Actually they have to let you see your car before you pay for it to get out! Because you're able to look for damages! And you're allowed to have your insurance company come before you claim your car!

JUst go down to the lot and see for yourself the condition of the car....I doubt its totaled, prolly was just a joy ride and you failed to fill up the gas tank so it was short lived...

yea, but last time I signed up I decided to be cheap about it & just get basic coverage. Hindsight is 20/20 - my insurance covers damage to the other person & their vehicle - it doesn't cover any of this. Oh well, I've got a lot of money saved right now so it will be taken care of one way or the other by tomorrow, whether it's picking up the old car or picking out a new one.
