Is there any REAL traffic

to be traded?

It seems like EVERY trade I setup, big trade or small trade, is either using a hitbot or is falling victim to one.

How do I know? Because I only have 5 unlabeled (which show up in my admin as unlabeled) links on my site. And each day at some point, each trades traffic seems to love those links, hundreds of links and they click those 5.

The sad part is when you ask webmasters if they are being hit they refuse to believe that they are, with the most common response being "I only trade with BIG guys and they never cheat"

Fuck it, whatever makes your counter count.

Looks like I move to a no trading page.

I hear juicylinks IS a real webmaster! he has traffic for trade!

Mojo Rizin 09-29-2003 06:49 PM

I guess it one of those things you are supposed to ignore and simply except it.

Problem I have is it drives me FUCKING CRAZY

We've never traded traffic. Seriously. I know that sounds silly. But, we keep traffic or send it to sponsors. What would we gain? What do you have to offer?

Of course you don't need to trade, you've got a shit load of traffic, why would you want to give it away?

Same here, I don't trade traffic, don't trade links or anything. I build my own network through my own resources or through acquisition. I prefer to keep all traffic in-house and not let any leak out to any other sites I don't control.

Well, we send it to people who pay us and in turn pay them to send traffic to something we have. I've just never understood the value in a free trade. But, I'd consider it if there was a compelling proposal. Regardless of how much we have, we want more. If a trade of some sort could increase our over all traffic base we would totally evaluate the deal seriously.

Why would anone "Trade" traffic ?? If you already have a surfer at your site, then whats the point of forcing him to another site, just so that site forces one of his surfers back to your site???...what a waste....:2 cents:

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out here. I'm waiting for someone to give me a good reason. This thread started because someone was saying that he trades for shitty traffic and he wants better traffic. The only reason I can think of to trade traffic with no monetary exchange is if your traffic sucks and you want to improve it. Personally, I don't get it. But, I've got an itchy trigger finger and I'm ready to jump at a good deal if someone proposes one.

My frustration lies in the fact my hard work is getting re-payed back with shitty traffic.

I dont need to improve my OWN quality, I need to find people who at least have as much desire to do so on their end.

it doesn't matter if you have 500 or 500k if your not making more money with the 500k then you are 500........

slapass 09-29-2003 07:41 PM

Simple concept but you trade traffic so that more people are exposed to your site. Then the quality of what you have causes them to book mark or comeback on their own.

But we all know that and you guys are just jerking his chain.

If you have good quality traffic though, you're sending potential sales off your site and losing money. Wouldn't it be better to keep all those hits to yourself and simply buy traffic according to its quality?

Mojo Rizin 09-29-2003 07:44 PM

Seems like its a fairly hush-hush topic..

Your right and thats perhaps the approach I am going to have to take.

The process will indeed be slower but should be more rewarding

liquidmoe 09-29-2003 07:46 PM

Gives me the idea to just start a completely non-trade site and see how the traffic develops or doesn't. :)

I'm not sure it would be slower, I think more people trust the dollar than a link trade or traffic trade. As well, I would imagine the chances of you getting low quality traffic would be lower since the people you buy the traffic from will want to keep the link/traffic trade going.

Just a thought to consider...

My :2 cents:

I get many daily submissions in my Adult Directory with webmasters who never send me a single hit even though they put my link up on some lost page on their site. My traffic is stable and doesn't go up unless I purchase hits on ppc search engines or buy the traffic (I don't post to tgps). That's the reason I quit trading a long time ago and only post links back to the webmasters who put me up on their main page only, but then often the return link is pulled a few days later and its not a fair trade anymore.
