Scott McD 09-29-2003 05:18 AM

Nope.

Probably end up in a better place than here anyway...

Marcus 09-29-2003 05:22 AM

You might say "no" now but it's very different when you think it's about to happen.

Two days ago I thought I was having a heart attack. I had chest pains, my left side went numb, I couldn't breathe, etc etc, so I went to the emergency room.

It turns out I had inflamed cartiledge in my chest and I was fine, but I thought I was going to die. And when you're sitting there in a hospital room having nurses look down on you, you're not so brave.

marcu5 09-29-2003 05:44 AM

not afraid of death, but afraid of dying.

A man is not completely born until he is dead.

Katlicious72 09-29-2003 06:36 AM

I used to be afraid of death but now I understand if I'm taken there's nothing I can do about it, it's better there anyway. Life is good to have but we all end up dead in the end and we rest.

RedBumper 09-29-2003 06:41 AM

To be honest, i think about it alot and yes, it scares me....... total blackness, you stop existing, nothing anymore, you can't think, you can't love, it's just total and complete nothing. Yeah, it scares the hell out of me!

WebTitan 09-29-2003 06:52 AM

no fear whatsoever...it seems to me, that those that FEAR death the most are the ones that have been conditioned into fear by organized religions?

Guess again. I may be a few years younger than you, but not that far off, and I have not feared death in years. Actually look forward to it just to see what is on the other side.

However, there are different attitudes about it for sure. For example:

I took my kids up north to say good-bye to their great-grandmother (97) who was on her way out. I talked to her, and she was completely comfortable with the idea that she was going to die, and said she would after she had finished praying for the people on her mental list. When she died a week or so later, I was sad that I no longer had a place to crash in San Francisco where no reservations were required, but I knew she was ready to go.

Last year my kids went to TX to say good-bye to their grandmother on their mother's side (80+/-). Now this lady was afraid to die, and it showed.

The point is, it probably has a lot to do with how you live your life here and now as to what your attitude towards death will be. I could die when I hit Submit Reply, and I would have no regrets or fears

I am kind of hoping mine will be the "film at 11" variety. . . . lot's of smoke and broken stuff laying around

PattyeCake* 09-29-2003 09:08 AM

as each year passes, and the "possibility" becomes more "probable" I can't in all honesty say that I'm looking forward to it...

Basher 09-29-2003 09:19 AM

death is the only

certainty in life.

JDog 09-29-2003 09:41 AM

Nope, I use to be when I was 12. But now it's like, you could die anyday, why waste your days being afraid to die any minute now? Because you'll end up wasting the rest of your life worried!

Actually you got that wrong :)

Death and Taxes are the only certainties in life - if you live in the US!

you cannot fear the inevitable. only stare at it in cautious awe and attempt to unravel it's mystery before it's too late.

xmodels 09-30-2003 04:08 AM

I do not want to die when i'll be old and i would feel every minute that death is somewhere close to me. It would be great if i'll die fast, _very fast_ - a bullet shot, maybe, or something similar. i am afraid of the process of dying.

HarlotCash Dyker 09-30-2003 04:12 AM

I am not afraid of dying. Just hope I am somewhere else when it happens...

com 09-30-2003 04:21 AM

nope i just hope it comes quick, and if not i can rise above the pain to enjoy it

Yup thats like me, I'm not afraid of being in blackness forever or going to hell, I just don't want to die certain ways

LeeNoga 09-30-2003 07:48 AM

Nope.

Rather die than become all wrinkled and full of aches and pains.

I'm pretty young, and I think we'll have the technology to keep me alive forever. :)

There's alot of hot young girls who still haven't gotten the hot and steamy grogan special, I musn't die.

interesting topic....

I don't really have an answer yet though.... still thinking about it. But we're all going to die eventually. No matter who you are, it's inescapable. No one is exempt. Death is truly the great equalizer.

hmmm...

Grogan, in 50-60 years max, you are worm food.

Me, scared of death? Hell yea I am, I'd rather stop aging now and live forever. Only one thing scares me more than my death, thats the death of my loved ones.
Is there a life after death, shit who knows, I tend to believe there is, but don't really want to die to find out.

:angel

Furious_Female 09-30-2003 01:24 PM

It's obvious once we are dead, there's nothing we can worry about. I am just afraid of life after death. Is there more? Do we have souls etc I like to believe we do, but if we do... will I go to a worse place? lol ...Life isn't perfect, but it sure beats the possibilities of "burning in hell". I don't believe there is a place like that... If I believe in anything, I believe in Sylvia Browne's theory http://www.sylvia.org/home/reasonsforlife.cfm I don't believe everything she says, but if I am going to believe in something, I like her theory the best :)

Even if science/medicine find ways to stop or slow down aging, we still have unexpected deaths to worry about, like being shot, run over by a bus, bitten by a poisonous snake etc.

Life is a series of challenges, obstacles, learning experiences... rewards are few and far between, so I like to believe there's a higher purpose to it all.

Nima 09-30-2003 01:43 PM

don't think about it and it won't happen anytime soon :thumbsup
