Meep meep!

Listening to a bit of the old Ludwig Van, volume at 10, and all of a sudden a near-deafening "Meep meep!" disturbs my peace and nearly gives me a heart attack. :321GFY

Fletch XXX 09-28-2003 10:02 AM

I have the complete Hanna Barbera sound library licensed to me, somehow I doubt people bought the license for a 'Meep Meep' sound is it the same sound from the Roadrunner?

I live near Warner Bros studios hahaha

:winkwink:

JamesK 09-28-2003 10:06 AM

the meep meep is ok

better than a woman moaning

im refreshing trying to find the banner.

did they just steal the sound or is it a home made one?

funny how people think its perfectly find to steal a sound effect for a banner.

th designer must be a crook because sounds from cartoons are quite expensive to license. I own libraries of them and it is not cheap.

im curious if the designer stole the sound or recreated it.

you cant license the road runner bleep for use in products ;)

It's ok when not listening to music. This, however, was almost as bad as listening to Von Gluck's Orfeo & Euridice for the first time.

ive paid more for sounds than some people have spent on their cars here ;)

i still havent even heard the sound.

my guess is people think just because its a toon sound is nothing.

shit, I have cartoon sound discs that were 300 bucks a pop ;)

Fletch XXX 09-28-2003 10:15 AM

ah just caught it.

definitely a snagged sound.

Libertine 09-28-2003 10:16 AM

it's the purecash banner with the shelby in it

Lane 09-28-2003 10:46 AM

so its illegal?

Fletch XXX 09-28-2003 10:58 AM

not like anyone really cares or anything will happen, but my guess would be yes.

nice banner but ripping off Chuck Jones is lame.

Ive noticed a trend in toon crookery. Remember the Snoopy banner awhile back? People think toons and sounds are just not something that is ?-able.

;)

One of the finest operas. I have the version with Agnes Baltsa.

If you don't like, stop listening to classical music for Godness sake.

And - oh - it's not "Von Gluck".

Ah, a music nazi. "If you don't like what I like, you have no taste". You should realize that if you are as stupid as you are, you'd be better off just shutting the fuck up instead of exposing yourself as the waste of human flesh you really are, you dumb cunt.

So I'm not allowed to correct your errors? I guess that would be a full-time job. :1orglaugh

If you want to show off as a classical buff, please get the most fundamental things right. Not knowing the proper names of the composers is decidedly a bad start. :1orglaugh

Let me know if you need cartoon sounds I own licenses to them.

You may want to be careful bro.

I know you guys dont take this seriously, but its like anything else.

When I purchase a sound library I have to sign and date a license to use them and turn it in to the company, for instance Warner Bros or Hanna barbera.

I have licnses for them as well as many others, its no different than using content without a license.

I have numbered sound discs that are only sold in limited number of copies, do you think these people dont care about their ?? Sound is intellectual property.

Let me know if you need some sounds.

;)

Mike AI 09-28-2003 11:18 AM

Yeah it was a fuck up on my end. I should have nixed the idea, we had a Screaching sound in our library, but I told them that would drive people up a wall - to find something with a little humor in it.

Banner will be changed soon.... If we need some cartoon sounds, I know who to call. ( What are you doing with liscenses for WB cartoon sounds anyway?)

Actually, I was responding to the other part of your post, moron. Then again, expecting a retard like you to understand that is a bit much, I admit.

And where the hell did you get the idea that I want to show off as a classical buff? I like all kinds of music, from death metal to classical, and care not about what other people think about that. May seem odd to a fucktard like you, listening to music just because you like it and not because you want to show off, but it's true.

Oh, and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music, 4th edition says: Christoph Willibald von Gluck. :321GFY

Yes, I'm aware of his whole name - but it's either "Beethoven" or "Ludwig van Beethoven". You'll never hear a radio commentator say "Now, we'll play a piece by van Beethoven" Same goes for Gluck.

As for the rest, two things:

* I find "Orfeo et Eurudice" is a fantastic opera. I just wanted to let it be known that it's one of the corner stones of the classical repertoire and rightly so.

* I notice that you're unable to discuss in a grown-up manner. Your problem, not mine. :321GFY

I have been involved in studio audio since I was a kid.

I have been collecting sound libraries since forever.

I am in the process of making my own libraries as well.

So you were nitpicking hoping to make yourself look intelligent without any further reason whatsoever? That makes you an annoying fucktard.

And for the rest, two things:

* You said "If you don't like, stop listening to classical music for Godness sake.", which makes you a music nazi who doesn't seem to comprehend the fact that other's people's tastes are just as valid, whatever they are.

* Why in the world would I want to have a grown-up discussion with an arrogant retarded person? Seems like a waste of thought, to be honest.

* You were thrashing an opera that I happen to like a lot and I responded to that.

* They call this a discussion board. Some are able to discuss here. Personally, I'm not into the name-calling game. It's amusing at times though if done properly. You just spew out a couple of invectives. Good for you - and boring for everyone else.

In other words, I hurt your feelings and that made you spout elitist nonsense? Well boo fucking hoo.
You caused it yourself, though. If you hadn't said something equivalent to "If you don't share my taste in music you shouldn't be listening to music at all", I wouldn't have known you were a tard and consequently wouldn't have called you one. :glugglug

An example: I don't really like the music of Wagner - but I know that there's a reason why so many people love it. I would never say something like "Wagner is crap" because I know it isn't. I just don't really fancy it myself.

You didn't like "Orfeo et Eurydice" - but you could have RESPECTED Gluck enough to not thrash it. That's all.

Here's a bit more "elitist nonsense": There's a Gluck revival going on. Some forgotten stuff is recorded for the first time. There's tons of good melodies for those who like his style.

So you basically got upset because I didn't show enough respect for his music? What the fuck?! Are you serious? This is GoFuckYourself.com for fuck's sake, not HugsAndKisses.com.

And the funniest part is that you entirely missed what I said in the original post.
I actually like Orfeo et Euridice. However, when listening to it for the first the time, the "Deh! Placetevi con me!" part can have about the same effect on you as the "Meep meep!" of that banner. Just listen to it, and you'll see what I mean.

Now stop being such a fucking pussy and quit crying.

Yea - it's oldfashioned to respect the big composers, I know. But I do. One of my favorite operas too. Gluck did the best he could to fuck it up himself by making a French version of it. :1orglaugh

Yea - disrespecting someone you have NO idea of who is - that's fine. You can stick your disrespect right up where the sun never shines.

Go on thrashing everything else. Shakespeare is shit. Holland is shit. And what more? Please go on while you're at it.

You remind me of certain soccer spectators who go to a game just to call the referee an idiot.

Just for your information: I've started to disrespect you too. But - as a opposed to you - I don't get a kick out of saying it.

You're 21 according to your profile. Talk about namedropping. People spend their entire LIVES getting through those authors.

Get over it, you fuck. "The dog that barks much is never good for hunting."

Sheesh.

If you had read those guys, you'd be a different person.

People who've read and understood and appreciated Dostoyevsky don't behave like you. They just don't. It's an shattering experience that makes you think about life, death, ethics, relationships between people, etc, etc.

You see - I don't have to demonstrate that you're the dumb-ass. You manage that all by yourself.

What the hell are you talking about? Those are (some of) my favorite authors. Literature is my passion, always has been. I've spent most of my youth in the library, simply because I'm addicted to reading.

What you don't seem to get is that this is a message board. I don't come here for intellectual discussion, but for shits and giggles. You seem to take this place too seriously, however.

Concerning the whiny stuff: So I defend a great composer - and that makes me whiny? After which you start a namedropping thread about "all-time great writers" so that everyone can admire you?

What a bluffing fuck.

First of all, it wasn't a name-dropping thread but a thread intended to find some new writers to read. And a succesful one at that, since I just ordered 2 books from writers I haven't heard of before.
Never read anything by d'Annunzio, but if you say he's a good writer I'll read one of his books some time.

As for the whiny stuff: You didn't defend a composer, you threw a temper tantrum when you thought someone said he didn't like Orfeo et Euridice, and continued to make a dumb-ass comment saying that if a person doesn't like him, that person shouldn't be listening to classical music at all.

So yes, you are a whiny bitch that overreacts, makes dumb-ass comments and can't seem to grasp the fact that this is just a fucking message board. In short, you're a fucktard. :glugglug

It's one thing to read, it's another to understand. I speak five languages and am learning Russian for the time being. I've actually read books by those authors you mention - in their original language. In a year or so, I'll be reading the Russians in their own words.

What you think of Gluck - I couldn't care less. Just wanted to say that it's a fine opera. You seem to take that personally - and also seem to have an extraordinary sensitive ego. Some day, someone will remove all that hot steam from your head - take care.

Why are you boasting about speaking 5 languages, with no apparent relevance whatsoever? Sounds to me like you have a rather fragile ego that just got burned severaly by a character on an internet message board :1orglaugh
