You know 99% of these vids aren't flattering at all -- in fact most of them are downright embarassing... I wonder how many pornstars start out by saying, "I'm going to do this right and have control of the final product..."

With my art, that's how I am... Nobody gets a finished piece from me unless I'd be proud to see it in the MET or Guggenheim someday... There's a couple exceptions... my friend has a painting I made with real blood, beer can fragments, and cigarette ash... but that was just a phase for me... kinda like Picasso's blue period... hehe.

1. Letting the world know you fuck the lowest lifeforms on the planet...
2. The lighting/makeup/sets usually suck ass...
3. Most of these vids seem unscripted, so she never seems to know how poorly she will be treated, what stupid shit the guy is going to try to do or say, or what stupid face she will make that she will regret later :1orglaugh
4. The editing/camera work is usually tacky or careless...
5. Skin problems...

I hear ya on the skin problems. Let me say that when I see girls with blemishes on their ass/crotch/anywhere on photo content it infuriates me that everyone in the industry doesn't airbrush that shit out before they pimp the content.

like about 5% of them. my two shooters spend 7 days a week with these girls. 95% of them couldn't care less, the only thing they're thinking about is the $$$, they're not trying to be the next Jenna Jameson.

one girl recently though had a breakdown when she showed up and found out there was no hair stylist or makeup person. some kid fresh off the bus from Kansas or someplace like that. i guess she thought she was going to be a movie star or fashion model.

The FLY is about to go into the porn movie production market and pay the girls $5,000 a scene, Make Up $500 a person/MU, hire locations for $25,000 a day. Get a film crew who were working for MGM last week.

Then he will show us how it should be done.

Yeah I mostly started this post after surfing some paysites... It's really these vids that are the most disturbing... maybe that's the whole point but vids like this http://www.defaceherface.com/homemade.html just makes me want to gag...

I shouldn't rip on porno films too much because I've never made any of my own but I have made some short films... it's interesting to think how I would do a porno myself if I had an interest in that...

#1 take out the cheesy acting and the stupid dialog... take out the cheesy special effects and neon shit... Take out the cocky attitude... Being a little humble is sexy... Why do you think Peter North is so damn popular with women in real life -- he doesn't act like a fucking moron... Fuck the acting -- make the shit realistic. I don't know about you but I get a boner if the girl looks like she's really "into" the guy... 90% of these female pornstars get this cocky I'm-the-bomb attitude that's not flattering... they act like they are in a porno... That's stupid if you ask me. They shouldn't be acting, they should be enjoying the sex and the camera just happens to be there... That's just my opinion...

For some things you obviously need to pay good $$$, but when it comes to art... The artist usually can make money out of thin air. The energy you put into making something that you're proud of is free... And why hire the "MGM" film crew when there's really well trained film/video students at nearby universities that would love to get the opportunity to do porn... probably they will work free for the experience/opportunity/resume... These kids generally have access to top of the line cameras and editing equipment...

As for locations... I don't think a good porno needs to be filmed at some exotic island or in some slick mansion... Sure there's probably a market for that stuff, but that's not what I would do... I'd do it down an dirty... I don't think a guy needs to be jerking off thinking -- "If I only had a house like that I could get these pornstar girls to fuck me..." I think good filming, lighting and editing can make just about any set look fantastic...

oddly enough I am not a fan of porn at all. I was until I got into it and saw what really sells. We sell porn to really frustrated people who want the girl to suffer.

How expensive is it to a hire a makeup artist and have nice lighting for a shoot! Alot of content I buy or get from sponsors, I cant use because the girl look like shit.

I feel that FLY but you know that a large large percentage of sales these days are coming from guys that have been rejected by women and probably even laughed at. They want to see the women getting degraded totally because it's in some way sick revenge for them and their daily lives. That's why this is selling and it's selling to the lowest common denominator.

Speak for yourself. The majority of films show the girl to be willing or actually pushing it along. Few surfers want to see a girl abused, look at the lines of punters to get the girls autographs at conventions.

However as TheFLY points out few can make good films that have the necessary ingredients to arouse the surfer. Few of the people who do produce them think the Internet is a viable market yet. Whether that is right or wrong look at the number of mainstream producers on the net.

But next time you are near a porn video shop go and look at he type of videos being sold. Or are you saying that a surfers tastes are different to the mainstream porn producer.

We are left with a market that wants to pay $50 for the lifetime license of a video scene and the scene will sell 50 times at the very best. Forget about the "Sobe's" at $5.

So with normal business models in place the producer/seller wants a 50% profi on his investment. Please go and shoot me a well produced, well acted, well directed, well shot scene with good talent for $1250. :1orglaugh

So you are left with the people who cannot sell in the mainstream. Now I'm not saying they do not make as much money as the mainstream, because they churn out 4 scenes a day and cut costs to the bone.

We make more money from the net now than magazines, but we shoot 8 sets a day instead of two.

a good make up artist who knows what they are doing is around $300-500 a day. A good lighting man about the same. But go back and look at what you paid for that content and ask yourself if it was what you paid for?

A good make up artist or lighting man can work in any market porn or non-porn. However TheFLY shows his naivety when he says
