The blue lagoon - child porn?
Let's face it, the only reason anyone could possibly want to see this disaster of a movie is to see a topless 14 year old Brooke Shields running around and showing off her body. So, is it child porn and should stuff like it be banned, or is it acceptable?

I thought Brooke was hotter in "Pretty Baby".

The movie was very touching. My parents let me watch it when I was 5 simply because they thought it was a beautiful and touching experience. It makes me cry every time I see it.

But, anyway, you are completely missing the point. I am not asking whether laws are applicable to it or not, but if it should be considered child porn and if it should be banned or not. I'm asking a moral question, not a legal one. |

porn isn't moral to a big % of people. |
Quote:
And even if it is, does that mean we can't discuss moral issues? And if it does, does that mean we should abandon all laws, since morals are the basis for laws and if our morals are only subjective, relative things which we can't even discuss with others? If not, on what should laws be based then, if common morals are impossible? |

uh.. back to the top,
She, and the producers stated various times that there was a body double for the nude scenes. Try finding her face and tit in the same shot. |
Quote:
Once upon a time there were no laws against murdering people. You could kill anyone you wanted and take whatever they had. Societies as a whole determined that probably wasn't a nice thing to do. It was bad. It was immoral. So they made laws against killing people. |

Eventually i saw the real movie when i was about 12.. and thought it was one of the most erotic things i'd ever seen. I think i promised myself at that point, i'd work in porn one day:) |
I haven't seen "Return to the Blue Lagoon" for years, but I'm pretty sure you could see Milla Jovovich's nipples at the very bottom of the screen... with her face clearly on the rest of it. I can't remember if that was a sexual scene, or it was just something simple like getting changed.
If it was released in 1991 that means she was 16-17 at the time it was released... |

Return to the Blue Lagoon? You are kidding, right?

I still have nightmares of Christopher Atkins and being forced to run my fingers thru that blonde fro.. I guess it was the 80s though.. we should be thankful it wasn't a mullet. |

I have always loved that movie, when I grew up and today. My daughters watched it (we own the originial non cut version) and love it.
Let's get real -- If you would be on island for years with a boy and you be that age, you would do the same thing However I grew up in the 60's and 70's I grew up in FKK Camps (nudist camps) I think way to many people are uptight. When my oldest was little (late 70's) we used to go to public pools (in Germany) where he ran around naked and played. Nobody thought it was weird And yeah I have pictures of my kids in the bathtub naked playing with the duckie and like my mom told me (my parents have those bathtub pictures of me too) "When you get older I will show those pictures to your husband or boyfriend" Sad - We went back to the stone ages - Sad |
who cares? the movie was shot in the fucking 70's.....WAY before 2257 laws...
