Anyone see the show "Coupling" thurs nite?

I had read in several places about how funny this show was and critics were raving, etc etc.

I watched it only because of the reviews..and I hardly found it funny at all. Seemed like same tired old material, and at best, kinda corny..not funny.

Did anyone actually think it is a funny series from what they saw?

The BBC version is hysterical, but I hear the US version is pretty bad. Like they took out most of the naughty jokes and got less charismatic actors.

Didn't know there was a BBC version. Figures...American tv really likes to copy bbc programs. But yeah, actors are less than compelling and the big yucks were like around this guy's attempt to get a condom.

Yeah, Friends was funny as hell, then Coupling copied it. The British version of Coupling was, in my opinion, not QUITE as good as Friends, but it is still outrageously funny. Sadly, the American version of Coupling sucked. It was kind of funny, though, that Thursday night the EXACT EPISODE of Coupling appeared on the BBC as aired in America. Almost the same exact script and everything. Just different actors playing the same characters. LOL

How bizarre. Just different not-so-funny actors I guess. Of course, I'm watching BBC America, so I'm sure the schedule is a bit different.

It's too bad they can't just run a British sitcom in the US as-is. Sure, you can see a little on BBC-America or PBS sometimes, but it'd be nice to see what's current in the UK.

It was on BBC America that night.

Yeah, I think the actors ruined it.

I thought it was supposed to be the ENGLISH that are very UPTIGHT?

Instead we have the uptight actors..or so they seemed. Just didn't seem to have any flow or natural comedy to it.
